Concrete Rose was also released in 2004 during the HOLIDAY season. Sales were still decent in 2004 and when you release your album in the holiday season, its not hard to sell. Yes, it sold a solid 250,000k. Then it was shortly stifiled by the 2004 investigation so anyone can see that she isn't really to blame. If Island Def Jam had its assets frozen then Rihanna wouldn't be where she is.

As idiotic and ignorant as your comment is, you're entitled to it. My comment wasn't idiotic or ignorant, its true. And you know it. Saying someone who's sold millions of records and written for some of the biggest names in music having "no talent" is just dumb and filled with haterism. And that's the truth.

If she keeps goin, she'll have a greatest hits in no time.LOL LOL. Record breaking Greatest Hits album after just 4 years! I really dont know why Rihanna isn't taking off. She got every support and back up, hit singles, Def Jam and LOTS of attention. I don't know why.

Rihanna is a singles artist. She is not good enough to carry an album by herself because the 2 or 3 singles that she does release are the best on the albums.

I actually like how she releases albums so often. I hate it when new albums take like forever. And I agree that I hope it changes so she becomes a single and an album artist.

Well, her 2nd album was miles better than her first. So lets hope her growth continues with this album.

In the 90's didn't Mariah Carey make an album like every year, so why are people complaining so much that Rihanna's doing it?

People like Beyonce and Christina should take notes :)... nah I love them both but they do take their sweet time lol.
I'm personally really looking forward to this. It's nice to see someone grow musically in front of us. :) We get to see it happen gradually too :)

Greatest Hit out in 2008 Hopefully this new era will have at least 2 killer singles like the 'A Girl Like Me' era had. Still, I am terribly upset she is releasing a new album WITHOUT having released Kisses Don't Lie. THAT was a Fantastic song!

i agree that should have been a single mIGU. That should have been the third single not the floperrific We Ride.

I hated "Kisses Don't Lie." She should have released "A Million Miles Away" or "P.S. (I'm Still Not Over You)." "We Ride was a good album track but not single material.
mIGU, "A Girl Like Me" had 3 killer singles. "Break It Off" reaching #9 is big. To have 3 out of the 4 singles go Top 10 and for one to go to number one is very impressive.

i agree that should have been a single mIGU. That should have been the third single not the floperrific We Ride. My thoughts exactly. Had she gone with 'Kisses Dont Lie' instead of We Ride, I'm sure it would have done wonders for the album back then. Still part of me beleives that they didnt release it cause of its title cause of 'hips don't lie'. What is a shame cause i honestly think 'Kisses Dont Lie' pisses it all over. It has the word HIT written everywhere mIGU, "A Girl Like Me" had 3 killer singles. "Break It Off" reaching #9 is big. To have 3 out of the 4 singles go Top 10 and for one to go to number one is very impressive. I forgot 'Break It Off', but yeah it has def been a great hit. But yet I was more talking that Unfaithful and SOS were two monster hits that finally put her in the map and made the album sell its 1,1million copies. 'Break It Off' is a hit but still I dont think it did the album any wonders like the other two did and did everywhere!

I love "Kisses Don't Lie" is was an album highlight for me along with a song that escapes me right now. The ballad on it... not "Unfaithful"... "Finally" or is that Fergie? LOL.
EDIT: Decided not to be lazy and reached for the album, LOL. "Final Goodbye". Shouldn't have been a single, but it's a good track.

Why is everyone hatin' on her??? Seriously, Rihanna has become a household name. Who doesn't know her? Anyways, the new album includes production by POLOW, SEAN GARRET, TIMBALAND, J.R. and STARGATE. It has HIT written all over it. AND if she wasn't big, she wouldn't be getting these deals; Nike, CosmoGirl...

"Music Of The Sun" was certified Gold! How in the world can someone classify that as a flop?! If she had only sold like 250k like Cassie after a Top 5 single, then it would be a flop.
It is NOT a flop by any means. So can people stop classifying it as one?!

Oh, and I just found this: Rumored guests include Fabolous, Cassie and Chris Brown, while Ne-Yo, Jay-Z, Nicole Scherzinger and J-Status are confirmed guest on the album. Also, will.I.am is also producing.

Rihanna is gearing up to release her third project this summer. Yes, her third album. That will be three albums within less than three years — that’s how the legends used to record albums back in the day. According to her record company spokeswoman, the Bajan beauty is currently in the studio recording the project, shooting for a June 5 release date.
“We do not yet know what will be on the album,” Def Jam Vice President Jana Fleishman confirmed to The BV Newswire today. “She is still recording, they are still choosing songs.” Reports have surfaced that the 19-year-old songstress (legally known as Robyn Rihanna Fenty) was in the studio working with her ‘Unfaithful’ collaborator Ne-Yo, and has also collaborated with in-demand hit-maker Sean Garrett. Hip-hop super-producers Timbaland, Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am and Andre 3000 have also been attached to the yet to be titled project.
Source: AOL Black Voices -- Oh, and "Leaving Tonight", which was originally by Ne-Yo and Rihanna, is now by Ne-Yo and Jennifer Hudson. WHY?!!!!!!!!!!!!?????

If it was big hit, I doubt they would have came out with a new album in less than a year maybe but I doubt it.

Biggest flop ever? No, but in the eyes of the record label? Probably a semi flop. Luckily she is pretty enough and engaging enough for them to try a slightly different tact with her the second time around. You could tell they tried very, very hard to break her both times especially with the second album. I still do not think her sales are all that impressive for constant promo and three massive airplay hits. However, we will see what happens with the next album.

Cassie didn't sell 250K. It was 300k(she still did good for a debut with a Top 5 single(which should be certified platinum))

According to a Universal Music website, Rihanna's third album, still untitled, is set to be released in June of 2007. A track called "Umbrella" is rumored to be the first single. However, nothing further has been confirmed by Rihanna or her label.
The album doesn't even have a title yet, so where did the title "One" come from? All I see is wikipedia that has it titled One everywhere else says its untitled.

Her second album wasn't a smash or anything but it did well enough. LPL- what constant promo did she do? she did NOT constantly promote, she promoted for like the first two weeks and that was it. I seriously have not seen her promoting since like May which was just a month after the release. And then when Beyonce came and rang the alarm, I haven't seen where RiRi went :O!
