CNN money.com: Sunsilk Can't Wait for Super Bowl XLII money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articl...017012008-1.htmBrand to Debut Global Campaign Starring Three Iconic Women Who Make Life Happen January 17, 2008: 09:00 AM ESTCHICAGO, Jan. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hair care brand Sunsilk hopes to inspire women around the world to leap from their couches and live life to the fullest with the debut of their massive "Life Can't Wait" Campaign during the broadcast of Super Bowl XLII on February 3. The Sunsilk "Life Can't Wait" Campaign features three of the world's most iconographic females -- Madonna, Shakira and Marilyn Monroe -- all of whom symbolize the power of expression and making life happen. The campaign aims to inspire women from all over the globe to live their own lives to the fullest. Spanning three continents and fifteen countries, the campaign showcases these universal icons and reveals significant and life-defining moments in their lives -- moments which inspired them to discover themselves, their identities and their always-evolving styles. The series of ads represent three artists who embody making life happen and seizing the moment. "We're proud to unveil a powerful global campaign that features three truly inspirational icons," said Stan Cook, Vice President of U.S. Hair Care Operations, Unilever. "They're celebrated not only for their accomplishments but for living with passion and urgency as well as having the confidence to take leaps of faith -- with their lives and their looks. Our hope is to inspire a new generation of women to do the same." About the Campaign Created by DeGrippes Gobe in Paris, the "Life Can't Wait" Campaign was born from the global insight that hair, more than any other physical attribute, plays a crucial role in a girl's power of transformation and self expression. Research conducted in six countries with 3,000 women revealed the universal truth that twenty-something women find having "good" hair can be a trigger for seizing opportunities. The campaign will roll-out worldwide following its Super Bowl debut, premiering in countries including India, Brazil, Thailand and Mexico. To continue the momentum domestically, beginning on February 4, "Life Can't Wait" will have a presence on marquee billboards in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago as well as a robust TV plan. It will also be supported by homepage takeovers on key Web sites including AOL, TMZ.com and MySpace. What's Your Story? Share it at lifecantwait.com Sunsilk is not only sharing the stories of Madonna, Shakira and Marilyn Monroe, but is also looking to hear the inspirational stories of women around the world, who have their own "Life Can't Wait" moment -- an example of living life with spontaneity, courage and without regret -- ultimately creating a global network of women who are making life happen and inspiring each other in the process. Starting February 1, women can visit lifecantwait.com and post their "Life Can't Wait" moments. A selection of global winners, including one from the U.S., deemed the most inspiring, will become international Sunsilk icons, and will represent the U.S. in the global campaign. "This contest allows girls to be part of a global make-it-happen movement," said Cook. "It gives them the opportunity to have their voice heard around the world while sharing with women everywhere how our campaign is personally-relevant to them." For more information on the "Life Can't Wait" Campaign, to view the ads or enter the contest, visit lifecantwait.com starting February 1, 2008.

Unilever’s Super Bowl commercial for Sunsilk will include images of Marilyn Monroe, above. (Unilever) Shakira, above, in an image from the Sunsilk commercial that will debut during the Super Bowl.I’m Gonna Wash That Brand Right Into My Hairtvdecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/01...t-into-my-hair/A hair-care brand is hoping to generate some attention through a worldwide campaign that gets under way with a star-filled commercial during Super Bowl XLII on Fox on Feb. 3. The commercial will present three famous, fabulous females — Madonna, Marilyn Monroe and Shakira — to promote the Sunsilk line of hair products sold by Unilever. The 30-second spot is scheduled for the fourth quarter of the game. Some Super Bowl commercials that have been much blogged and buzzed about in recent years have been for products aimed at women. It may seem counterintuitive, but it can make sense if you consider that about 40 percent of the audience for the game is female. Indeed, the Super Bowl is typically the No. 1 show for women each year, or No. 2 (after the Academy Awards). Among the other advertisers in Super Bowl XLII that are taking advantage of the size of the female audience are Procter & Gamble, with a commercial for Tide to Go stain remover, and Limited Brands, with a spot for Victoria’s Secret. Unilever has capitalized on the female viewership during previous Super Bowls, advertising its Dove brand of skin- and hair-care products. Now it’s time for Sunsilk, which the company brought out in the United States in mid-2006, 50 years after it was introduced in its first market, the Netherlands. “We felt like a campaign of this magnitude deserved a very big stage,” Sarah Jensen, marketing director at the Unilever hair-care division in Chicago, said Monday. The campaign carries the theme “Life can’t wait” and urges women to “make your hair happen.” The commercial will direct viewers to a Web site (lifecantwait.com), which is scheduled to go live on Feb. 1. Visitors to the site will be asked to share personal stories about how they — like Madonna, Monroe and Shakira — try to live life to the fullest. Or, in the case of Monroe, who died in 1962, lived life to the fullest. The commercial features snippets of songs associated with each star. Madonna sings “Ray of Light,” Monroe sings “I Want to Be Loved By You” and Shakira sings “Whenever, Whatever.” After the spot appears in the Super Bowl, the campaign will migrate around the world, to 15 markets in Europe, Latin America and Asia. Sunsilk is sold by Unilever in about 80 countries. Starting “in the toughest arena, which the Super Bowl is,” is a “statement we want to make” about the importance of the campaign, said Andrei Gemeneanu, Sunsilk global brand director in London. The campaign is intended as a worldwide reintroduction of Sunsilk, which is aimed at women in their 20’s. The campaign is being created by the Paris office of Desgrippes Gobé, an agency that specializes in brand identity and design. AKQA, a digital agency, is working on the Internet aspects of the campaign. The worldwide creative agency for Sunsilk, JWT, part of the WPP Group, is helping to produce elements of the campaign that will appear in the United States, Ms. Jensen said. Among the other advertisers in Super Bowl XLII are Anheuser-Busch, Coca-Cola, Walt Disney, FedEx, General Motors, PepsiCo and Toyota Motor. Fox, part of the News Corporation, is charging an estimated average of $2.7 million for each 30 seconds of commercial time in the game. Demand for spots in the Super Bowl, usually strong, has been particularly robust in recent months. Unilever decided in the fourth quarter of 2007 to devote the spot it bought in the game to Sunsilk, Ms. Jensen said.

I know not to be a fool and believe wikipedia, but why is this information so specific? I think I would die if it were true lol.

Feb 12, 7:54 PM EST Shakira Charity Auction Raises $76,000
MEXICO CITY (AP) -- Ever paid $3,000 for a bra? That's what one fan forked over for one of Shakira's bras. Another admirer shelled out $14,000 for the privilege of meeting the pop sensation and receiving front-row seats at a future show in Toronto.
The two bids were among the highest offered for 40 items that Shakira donated to an Internet auction for her Bare Feet Foundation, which is building a school for impoverished children in northern Colombia.
Another popular item: a shiny lavender skirt with turquoise-and-coral beading that she wore while singing "Hips Don't Lie," which fetched more than $1,000.
The items were from Shakira's 2007 "Oral Fixation" tour.
Still up for grabs until Sunday: an electric Fender guitar and an acoustic Taylor guitar, both bearing the 31-year-old singer's autograph.
The auction has raised $76,000.
"It was a phenomenal success," Eric Gazin, president of Auction Cause, told The Associated Press in a telephone interview Tuesday. "We had bidders from 10 countries."

. The Columbian singer has joined forces with Puig Beauty & Fashion Group, a leading company in the Spanish purfume market. Puig has previously developed successful perfumes fronted by actor Antonio Banderas. Shakira said: "I am very excited to be able to express myself through another creative medium."My feeling is that personal care and beauty should be effortless and accessible for everyone." Meanwhile, the singer has continued to do her work for good causes by recently selling some of her personal belongings on eBay for her children's charity. One fan paid £1,500 to own a Roberto Cavalli jewelled bra that Shakira wore on her Oral Fixation world tour in 2007.
Well, it was only a matter of time ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif)

love the song but i have no idea what she's saying .. is there a translation of the lyrics? Hay Amores / There Are Loves Love in the Time of Cholera [EP] Oh, my love, what I wouldn’t do for you To have you for a second, far from the world and close to me Oh, my love, like the Magdalena River that melts into the sand of the sea I want to melt into you. There are loves that grow resistant to damage Like wine that ripens with age, so grows what I feel for you. There are loves that last the winter and flourish And sprout during autumn nights Much like the love that I feel for you. Oh, my love, don’t forget about the sea That I’ve seen crying at night So many memories of you Oh, my love, don’t forget about the day that separated your life, about the poor life that it made me live. There are loves that grow resistant to damage Like wine that ripens with age, so grows what I feel for you. There are loves that seem to run out and flourish And sprout during autumn nights Much like the love that I feel for you Feel for you For you Like the love that I feel for you.

Apr 21, 3:23 PM EDT Shakira praises British Prime Minister Gordon Brown
LONDON (AP) -- George Clooney. Angelina Jolie. Shakira.
Not a red carpet lineup, but a roll call of celebrities the sometimes dour British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has recruited to inject glamour into his appeals to help the developing world.
Brown joined a telephone conference Monday with Shakira, praising the Colombian pop sensation for taking an inspirational role in work to provide a basic education for every child in the world.
The Grammy-winning singer, famed for her hit "Hips Don't Lie," is supporting a week of events to highlight the cause of education advocacy group the Global Campaign for Education.
She said the group is pressing world leaders to provide funding for primary education for 72 million young children who now miss out on schooling as a result of poverty.
The group also aims to generate support for some 226 million older children who miss out on classes because of a lack of access to schools, or because of truancy.
Brown is the world's "No. 1 champion of education," said the group's chairman, Gene Sperling, an ex-White House economic adviser to former President Clinton.
Shakira also praised Brown, who as British treasury chief in 2006 pledged $15 billion over 10 years for education in the developing world - the largest offer of aid from a Group of Eight industrialized nation.
"He is a man with wonderful intentions, he is very pro-active, he is working very hard for the issue of education," Shakira said, speaking from Washington on a conference call.
The 31-year-old singer said she had previously met Brown to discuss aid for education. "I could feel how passionate and enthusiastic he was about it," she said.
"She is inspiring people all over the world," Brown said, returning the singer's praise as he joined the call from London.
Brown has made work on meeting the Millennium Development Goals - a set of development standards on education, health, literacy and poverty - a key plank of his foreign policy.
Betraying his often gloomy demeanor, Brown regularly courts celebrities to lend backing to his campaigns.
He held talks with George Clooney earlier this month on violence in Darfur, has worked closely with Bono and Bob Geldof on aid for Africa, and chatted with Angelina Jolie in 2006 on education.
