I never really liked "Make My Heart". She did that type of song better with "Take This Ring". The only song I really loved on Pulse was "Hands Tied". "Yesterday" was alright too.

I liked 'Make My Heart', 'Hands Tied' and 'Yesterday' from Pulse. 'Hands Tied' is my favorite of the 3, 'Make My Heart' my least favorite.

It was a solid album that couldn't find an audience. I'm sure it was a huge bummer for Toni. Even "Heart Never Had a Hero" was a throwback to her big ballad days...

She needs a major label pushing her. Most of these artists think they know whats best going indie ever so often, but it doesn't really go as it should. I'm curious to see how this plays out for her. Personally, I found it really frustrating that Hands Tied did well on Urban AC but didn't get sent to Urban radio. That, and that the original version of Yesterday didn't get pushed to Pop at all. It clearly reminded me of the Pop hits that Leona Lewis had from her first album.

"Yesterday" (the solo version) should've been sent to Pop AC. It's like the top black females forget that that audience was a huge factor in alot of their albums selling.

I was hoping for something a bit more radio-friendly but I do like it.

It sounds radio friendly to me. It's great. Her voice is beautiful on it.

I hoped after she alienated a lot of people by going so far in the pop direction with Pulse that she would have gone back to recording a fully R&B album not chasing the club music trends. I feel like, after The Heat, her musical direction has been kind of a mess.

I still feel like Libra had a great direction and was classic Toni. Very underrated album. I guess there was only room for one diva to comeback in 05 though and she didn't have management that was great.
Management makes or breaks the artist 99 percent of the time. I can't take Toni's management seriously.
And this chasing trend ish needs to stop. People want Toni that sings them ballads. I rather have some R and B midtempos like Midnight off of Libra than this. I want to see real talent slowly make its way back without chasing the trends. Dare to be different Toni!

I could not get into Pulse in any way, which is why I did not purchase that effort. Her Libra CD was solid. Listening to the new single is promising. I would not want the whole CD to sound like I Heart you, but she exudes fire and strength in this song.

IHY is so good. I wonder how much this will open up with. I mean, BFV is very popular. And with reality shows with some artists(Monica, Keyshia Cole), they've opened up with some nice numbers.

This song is not at all what I expected! I thought it would be something that leaned a little too much to the younger crowds like "Make My Heart." I'm pleasantly surprised at how it's not 100% dance and just different enough that it could do something at radio if properly promoted.
I could see this making waves at Hot AC and Rhythmic and maybe even minor ones on AC and Pop. Doubt it'll be sent for adds though.

Like everyone has stated, the song is cute, but what format(s) will play this track? I want the R&B Toni again, but I think we can clearly see she doesn't wanna go back down that road again.

Pretty in pink: Toni Braxton look sensational in a cutaway leotard and suspender tights as she film her new videoBy Georgina Littlejohn PUBLISHED: 07:59 EST, 19 March 2012 | UPDATED: 09:51 EST, 19 March 2012 She may be in her mid-forties but Toni Braxton knows how to give women half her age a run for their money in the sexy stakes. Because the singer looked much younger than her years as she filmed her new music video in a very hot outfit. Miss Braxton, 44, looked gorgeous in a cutaway pink leotard that showed off her curves. Sensational: Toni Braxton looked gorgeous in a pink cutaway leotard as she filmed her new music videoAnd she teamed it with black suspender tights and silver jewellery as she filmed the video. She also sported a new short curly do which softened her face, Toni was filming the video for her new single I Heart You, her first release for two years. Leggy: Toni teamed the leotard with suspender tights which showed off her toned pinsIt will be the lead single off her upcoming eighth studio album due for release later this year, with the sing due out sometime this month. Toni wrote and produced the club anthem and said: 'When I wrote this song I was thinking about the feeling you get when you walk into a club and you hear the melody. 'You feel the beat and you just know it's going to be a good night.' Shake it, Toni! The singer strutted her stuff and threw some sexy moves for the camerasEarlier this month it was reported that Toni was dating actor Eddie Murphy with a source telling Us Weekly: 'They are seeing each other and very into it. Their kids have met and everything. It's getting very serious.' But this has since been denied by her spokesperson who went to the publication and said: 'Toni and Eddie are just friends and have been fans of each other's work for a long time.' Eddie - who has eight kids from previous relationships - is said to gave even cheered on the mother of two at her L.A concert on February 19. She's been separated from singer Keri Lewis since 2009, the couple were married for eight years and have sons Denim, 11, and eight-year-old Diezel together.

Seriously Toni Braxton? Seriously? I dunno who’s giving her these horrendous career advices. :( Hasn’t she learned anything from the debacle that was that campy MMH video? I have ALWAYS defended her and stood by her so it pains me to see her putting the final nail in her career’s coffin. :'(

She's too grown for this mess.

I dont think she cares about commercial succes at this point. She is going the independent route and has stated she wants creative control of her work. Maybe she is just doing what SHE wants to do.

Maybe she is just doing what SHE wants to do. true, but doesn't she need money???!!! I'm hopeful that the album will not be all dance, though I do like the song. Interesting enough, I checked out other music blogs etc and it appears that I Love You is getting positive reviews. Maybe she'll get lucky this go round.

That doesn't make any sense. Of course she wants commercial success. What's the point of having creative control if the album is another flop and no one hears it? It'll be pointless. Unless it's just an ego thing for her.

Commercial success for her after 3 flops isnt really going to happen so she may as well do what she wants.

It's been clear for years that she's not going to have a significant comeback. I just wish she was at least consistently having Urban AC. Recording straight up dance music at this point is basically ensuring that only her hardcore fans and some gay clubs hear her music.

Nobody is talking about commercial success (expect for a select few no one is commercially successful these days). But i was hoping for an artistic comeback with songs that take her back to her roots and can help her get some more Grammys. With this get up and music direction she is just trashing her legacy and is looking desperate. It seems as if she is getting her career advice from a consultancy of flaming mos
