Nah... Clive would never let that happen. I can definitely see her incorporating some bluesy-country style material into her next record, but in no way will it be pure country.

WOO HOOO!! I HOPE they come near me! that's so cool!
I wonder how the set will work?! I think it would be kind of cool for Kelly to do the duets with Reba that she recorded with the female artists! and OMG could we finally get to hear A lot like you? *faints at the prospect*

.
well thank you very much, she is gorgeous, isn't she?!
anyway, i found this over at the KCE, i thought i saw someone ask about how the set might work, so i thought this may be of interest.
read this on fancyreba:
I just received the nicest email from John Jarvis, who has played the "piana" for Reba for the past couple of years. I emailed him asking if he was touring with Reba next year and, from information he has received, they will be morphing the two bands and he has decided to pursue other opportunities.
hope that helps anyone! thanks for posting the dates!!! so excited, Rockford,IL!!!!!! any more info on when tix go on sale?
thanks for the warm welcome!!!!

This is from Billboard.... McEntire, Clarkson Join Voices For Winter TourReba McEntire November 15, 2007, 12:40 PM ET Jonathan Cohen, N.Y. On the heels of this week's announcement of a winter Keith Urban/Carrie Underwood tour, another star pairing is preparing to hit the road around the same time. Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson will team for the 2 Worlds 2 Voices tour, kicking off Jan. 17 in Dayton, Ohio. The outing will visit 15 markets through Feb. 16 in Kansas City, Mo., tickets for some shows begin going on sale Nov. 30. McEntire and Clarkson became acquainted during sessions for the former's "Reba Duets," which spawned a collaborative cover of Clarkson's "Because of You." The duet was not what the pair had originally recorded for the project. Rehearsing for a CMT "Crossroads" special, McEntire's husband/manager Narvel Blackstock noticed a spark between the two on Clarkson's song. "Narvel came up to the stage and said, 'Reba, you've got to record this for the duet project,' " McEntire told Billboard recently. "I talked to Kelly and she said, 'Right on. Let's do it.' So we went back into the studio and recorded it." Before 2 Worlds 2 Voices, Clarkson has her own shows on tap through early December. She will also tour Australia and the United Kingdom in March. Here are McEntire/Clarkson's tour dates: Jan. 17: Dayton, Ohio (Nutter Center) Jan. 18: Louisville (Freedom Hall) Jan. 19: Morgantown, W.Va. (West Virgina University) Jan. 24: Norfolk, Va. (Norfolk Scope Arena) Jan. 25: Winston-Salem, N.C. (Lawrence Joel Coliseum) Jan. 26: Fayetteville, N.C. (Crown Center) Jan. 31: Wichita, Kan. (Kansas Coliseum) Feb. 1: Tulsa, Okla. I posted in the country forum that it will be interesting to see how this tour performs. There's a difference between scoring a hit duet and touring together. I know I'll be there even if no one else shows up.
What excites me most is that country fans will be able to hear Sober and pop fans will be able to hear You Lie. Two incredible songs that should transcend genres.

Why in the world would people not show up sbp. I think this tour has huge possibilities. Reba fans will come to see her because the love her. I can't see them staying home in droves just because Kelly is touring with her and the same with Kelly fans. I know that if the tour was coming anywhere near me I'd positively be there. Reba isn't one of my favorite artists by far but I certainly could tolerate her and maybe even really like her if I got another chance to see my favorite, Kelly. I think this tour will do really well.

I hope Kelly does a ton of MD songs. I just saw her in concert earlier this week, and it was awesome. Man can she sing. Seriously, one of the best concerts ever. The only thing I could have wanted was for more songs off of MD, but I'm not really complaining. Best part of the night was with SUBG. I was up in the mezzanine/balcony, and during SUBG everyone got up and started jumping up and down. I thought for a second that the balcony was going to collapse. Loved it. And the set up for MI was great too.
Anyway, I think the Reba/Kelly mini-tour is cool. IMO, it's a nice way to spend the time before Kelly's world tour and a nice set up for her eventual country album. IMO, if Reba's fans don't want to see Kelly they'll probably skip this tour and vice a versa, if Kelly fans don't want to see Reba they'll probably just avoid the concert. No need for drama. It's not like the concert goers won't know what's going to happen.
But boo, at not coming anywhere near the West Coast. Guess I'll just have to rely on the media from the KCE for this concert.

Why in the world would people not show up sbp. I'm not saying people won't show up (only that I will show up regardless of who else does). I just mentioned that I'm interested in seeing how it does because it's not something that's done every day.

Wow, Kelly is coming to the Sprint Center!!!!!!! Yes, I've been waiting to go since it opened in September. I hear it's nice. CAN'T WAIT!!!!
I wonder if it's going to be like Crossroads, all duets, or each have a set.

I wonder if it's going to be like Crossroads, all duets, or each have a set. I think they'll have their own sets and sing some songs together. I don't suspect either one will be opening for the other. Rather, they would probably open up with a duet of like Why Haven't I Heard From You. Then one of them will sing a couple of their songs. The other will come out to join on another duet and that one will then sing a couple of their songs, etc. That would keep the concert flowing. Of course, with their varying styles that might make for awkward transitions. As for the songs they would sing together, of course BOY and probably Why Haven't I Heard From You. I suspect they might sing some classics that they're both fans of. But Reba better usse this Duets opportunity. I would love to hear them sing Sleeping With The Telephone (which was recorded with Faith) and When You Love Someone Like That (which was recorded with LeAnn).

The MD songs are great, Maybe, Sober, Haunted, Be Still, Can I have a Kiss, etc would fit very well with Reba's more country leaning fans not to mention unlike fans of certain other artists I think the Reba and Kelly's fans appreciate other singers. and judging from the reaction on Reba's board they are as excited about this tour as Kelly's fans are.

i think that they know what they're doing. i think that they realize that they have to pick the songs carefully in order to attract BOTH audiences. this has alot of potential to boost MD sales that is for sure. Reba's Duets is still selling very well, and with the right songs, they can pull Reba's audience into Kelly's music. i think narvel knows what he is doing in order to help both his clients have a win/win situation, at least i hope so. i am the first one to say that sales aren't important, ya don't need high numbers every time, there are alot of artists out there that are established and have low sales, but anyway, i would like to see MD have a little surge in sales, it is a really great, honest, touching, album that should be heard by more people!

The majority of "other artists fans" defintely appreciate other singers. anyhoo, i think this could be a great show and see a ton of duets coming out of it which will be fun!

Don't you get warned at least twice a week for saying things like that?
Not everyone is out to get Kelly. Not all Carrie fans hate Kelly. I know it's hard to believe, but it is true.

Kelly will have 2 weeks off before she tours Australia and most of the shows over there are nearly every other day, she should be fine. What an era. So disappointing. :( I know, its such a shame.
