I think that would be less fun. The whole point of AI is to vote for who you want to stay. Looking at the list of people who entered, I think everyone on it is mature enough to handle being eliminated. They know it's a competetion, and they know how the format works, so there shouldn't be a problem.

this is not AI. this is only a small competition between net-friends. i want all the competitors to experience it together. We will still have a 1st - whatever place in the finale. I like this idea because some people have bad shows so let them have another try.
Show the bottom three and top 3 of the group for the week, but we do not have to reveal anything other than that.
anyone else have an opinion?

I've actually warmed up to the idea of eliminations. That is the point of a competition. Why would someone who needs "another try" be crowned the ONE and ONLY: PULSE IDOL!? Yeah, thats an honor! You gotta be damn good to be THE Pulse Idol! hehe Anyways, how is voting going to work? We hold a poll or just the judges choose or what? Because I think we audience should get a say.

Idea for eliminations: The judges narrow the contestants down to the bottom 3. Assuming we have three "main judges," each collects votes for one of the three contestants.
So, say hypothetically, Kelly, Clay, and Carrie are in the bottom 3. Kelly fans send their votes to Pulse, Clay fans send their votes to Music-Lives, and Carrie fans send their votes to me.
I'm not sure if people should be allowed to vote more than once or for more than one candidate though.

Lets hope we have more than 3 voters! If the Pulse staff allows it, we could ask for permission to make an "announcement" thread that is visible in all forums so other members will know about it so they can vote and participate if they want to.

mmhm. How would we do the voting? I think it'd be kind of hard. PM'ing judges is a good idea i guess. I was thinking we could make a poll.. ?

The problem with a poll is that one doesn't know who is voting. I doubt it'll get this out of hand, but, users can create side accounts to cast multiple votes. It would be difficult to determine if this was happening.
At least with PMing votes, the judges can see if a legitimate user is casting the vote. If they have 100 posts or whatever, they will be allowed to vote.

PMing the votes to the people in would be the best bet for now. I want to incoporate a bit of the AI style a bit of voting as many times as you want. But of course, that could get of hand. So would you guys be up for staggered voting? Like, you give the person you want the most, like say 10 points, the next person 5, the next 3?

If you need more theme ideas, I thought of a few:
Disney week (Songs From Disney movies) 2000 Pop Hits Pop Flops (Songs That Didn't Make the top 40) Lilith Week Boyband/Girlgroup week Musicals Michael Jackson/Madonna week

In polls, the mods can see what members have voted , so while time consuming, they could weed out the "excess' votes. this just wouldn't allow people to vote more than once.

Ya know? $0.02

Narrowing it down to three people would be too limited, and your suggestion definitely gives people more freedom to spread their points.

So uh can can an "official" person get us an updated list of judges/contestants/etc.. Just 'cause I'm anxious to get this off and started (even though I'm not really doing anything, hehe).

Sounds like a great idea!!! Too bad I can't sing but my sister can sing really well I wouldn't say that if it wasn't true since I don't like complimenting my sister too much since we argue all the time.
