UP TO #4! :o Two songs in the TOP 5 this time for Kelly! It's amazing. And the bullet really went up. Kelly is doing so well it's amazing. With radio embracing her like this, she can release whatever the hell she wants to and it'll go top 5, lol. I think Kelly's success also has to do with the fact that there aren't any other 'huge' artists competing with her in the genre - Avril might be considered her competition, but Avril is at the end of the "Under My Skin" era, so that still leaves an empty space. Anyway, how many weeks at #1 are you guys predicting?

Her video jumped up to #3 on TRL today, in just it's second day on the countdown. That is really impressive. I absolutely love the video, so I am glad that it is doing well. It should definitely help with album sales.

just as a general question, is the rest of "breakaway" as good as "since you been gone" and "behind these hazel eyes"?
i downloaded the two singles and listen to them on my ipod like 345345839458 times every day. because they're so awesome.
and now i'm like... why not just buy the album? however i'm one of those weird people who gets suspicious whenever i hear two amazing songs from an album because i immediatley assume the rest of the album is crap and they picked the good stuff as the first few singles.

Honestly, no. Some of the tracks are a quite deal weaker, but "Because of You" really is a great song. It seems to be a song that everyone pretty much likes, along with "Breakaway", "SUBG", and "BTHE." "Gone", "Addicted", and the live version of "Beautiful Disaster" are also good. I think it'd be $12 well spent. I love the CD, but there are a few songs that I skip over. Hope this helps!

Me too, although the singles from her first album didn't really interest me, with the exception of "miss independent". Plus, everything she did for like the first two years seemed really cheesy and corny. I'm sure she had nothing to do with that and was contractually obligated to do that trainwreck of a movie, and then the whole "moment like this" thing was kind of corny.
But ever since SUBG, I've been hooked on her. She seems like SUCH a nice person too. And she doesn't whore herself out at parties and dress trampy and she's not a camera hog. She seems like a very normal, down-to-earth, classy girl. And I'm one of those weird people who has to like the person in order to like the music, so that only makes me like Kelly even more.

Yeah, Kelly didn't have much control on the first album. The singles weren't bad, but they weren't really great either. The first album showed Kelly trying to find her "sound." "Breakaway", on the other hand, is the real Kelly. She was made to sing these songs, which is evident when you watch her live. But what makes Kelly so great is that she can sing anything -- country, R&B, pop, pop/rock, anything. She's so versatile. I have to concur -- she is very classy. When they previewed all of the contestants on American Idol 1 and asked them why they wanted to be the American Idol, she said "I think the industry could use some class." I definitely think she's lived up to that statement!

It's absolutely way wiser and worthier of spending some bucks on this CD than other CDs out there!! I can confidently recommend and state that "this album is all fill with great songs which all could be quite enough to take over following single of BTHE, especially, my favorite songs are Gone,WalkAway,I Hate Myself Losing You, BTHE, SUBG, Hear Me, Because Of You, yeah almost, all tracks are my favorite's lol so go get the copy

Bullet's up to +916! :o Gwen's bullet also dropped by over 100, so if she continues this trend, and starts to fall fast, BTHE could definitely take the #1 spot!!

Gwen's bullet dropping doesn't mean anything. Kelly can't possibly make a run at #1 until Gwen's SPINS start dropping. Of course Gwens bullet dropping means something - it means its losing steam. Rockets and novelty songs like HB tend to lose ground almost as quickly as they gain it. And IMO your'e underestimating Clarkson - something many do and are invariably wrong. Remember BOBD run at #1. SUBG was right there with it at #2 the whole time and muscled its way to the top while everyone was saying there was "no way" it could overcome Green Days momentum. It did and powered its way to 7 weeks at #1 and is still at #3. Kelly has proved shes got "game". You haven't noticed?

For crying out loud, what are you expecting from a #1 song, 20,000 spins? It simply means the song is reaching critical mass, where it's being played a TON by every station. Once you get to that point, you can't sustain a big bullet, because there's no where to go. How long it stays there is anyone's guess, but the shrinking of the bullet is meaningless when the song is already over 9000 spins. Kelly's success is completely unrelated to this fact. I'm not saying BTHE won't get to #1, I'm just saying Gwen's bullet shrinking at this stage in the game is inevitable and in now way indicates how long the song will stay on top.

So if Gwen's bullet is at +200 tomorrow, you would say that it in no way indicates her losing steam at all?
Yes, its inevitable-Gwen's song is already massive. But its bullet has dropped and its spins will inevitably come soon. People keep on saying that HG will drop at the speed of light-I disagree. I think it will linger around longer than people think and the bullet will show more staying power, despite slowing down a tad now. I think there is a good chance that Mariah will pass Kelly and get #1, while Kelly will have to settle for a #2 or #3 peak. (Which is still AMAZING and honestly much higher than I expected-congrats to her for getting ANOTHER huge hit out of this era!!)

i think a lot of people look at #2 as "one less than #1" when in reality you have to consider the other circumstances that were going on at the time when the song charted.
i mean, assuming kelly only gets to #3 (and i say "only" as if that's a bad thing, when in reality it's incredible), it's only because there are two incredibly huge songs out there right now (WBT & HBG). at another time when things were slow and there weren't huge songs out that were exploding, its quite possible she could have been at the top of the charts for weeks on end with BTHE.

Personally, BTHE is the best song on radio right now. Hollaback Girl is now annoying that I hear it about 30 times in a 3 hour period and ugh, its like when 'Rich Girl' was at its peak and I heard that monstrosity every 15 minutes. With 'We Belong Together', its too short and it cuts off too quickly. Mariah's overdone vocals to the out of the song doesn't do it justice. I love Mariah & I Love , Love, Love TEOM, but still, WBT is too short or if its long enough, she should have redone it.
BTHE is a refreshing burst of life in that Kelly can be really who she is. SUBG was just a glimpse of Kelly but with BTHE, the song empowers her career and raises her. I predict it goes #1 in a few short weeks leaving Gwen to bite the dust and Mariah reexamining her single choice.
Plus the video for BTHE is so awesome, that its gonna raise Kelly to superstardom in no time! I predict it pounces right over Jesse, Mariah & the rest of the videos on TRL and claims its place as what it is: The Best Video Ever!
