Speaking of the Avril/Kelly push... I have watched the video a few times... and while it could be an accident... it looks suspiciously like a shove! I love it.

Oh my god, I cannot believe people still think Avril pushed Kelly. It was a little bump/misunderstanding and they both openly laughed about it in interviews at how clumsy they both were. Yet every few months someone will freak out about how "mean evil Avril SHOVED Kelly!" i know, not like avril didnt write kellys biggest hit to date or anything Avril didn't write Since U Been Gone

i know, not like avril didnt write kellys biggest hit to date or anything Avril didn't write Since U Been Gone i was refering to Breakaway. Last time I checked it has been played the most of any Kelly song, but i could be wrong. To me Breakaway is her biggest hit, its still on the hot 100 and a lot of people like it. I can defintly see Since U Been Gone being bigger tho.

I'd definitely put SUBG as her biggest hit overall, although Breakaway is obviously her biggest AC hit.

I would definatly consider SUBG her biggest hit to date. But I think thats just because its so fresh in everybodys minds RIGHT NOW. I think if Breakaway was having its huge success right now, and SUBG had already had its success and was starting to fade, we would be saying opposite.

BTHE was #1 on TRL today! That brings her total to 11 days at the top!

I remember some fans saying that Kelly may never recapture the success that she had with Miss Independent before Breakaway was released... and that it would always be her signature song. Now she has already scored two bigger hits... and BTHE is still on the rise.

I think Piano BD is her most critically acclaimed song. Every SINGLE review about "Breakaway' had nothing but amazing things to say about this song, and I must say I agree completly. BD wasnt my thing on Thankful, but after hearing it on the Independent Tour, I was hooked.

This song has tough competition to gain that number 1 spot. Can she do it? Probably not...Gwen has a 10,000+ spin and Mariah continues her +1000 gain with 8,000+ spin. Gwen will eventually fall...and fall hard...but Mariah should capture that number 1 within two/three weeks...maintain it for a good four/five weeks...and I think Kelly's bullet will be gone by then.

I think to her hardcore fans, 'Beautiful Disaster' - Acoustic is her signature song. But to the general public it's a toss-up between 'Breakaway' and 'SUBG'.

It's really hard picking a signature song when her 2 biggest hits to date are still charting.
To the general public I would say that "Miss Independent" is a good signature song. I also think "A Moment Like This" is synonymous with Kelly. But of course that's due to the AI connection. Personally, "Beautiful Disaster" is my "Kelly" song.

If you went up to somebody today, and asked which song comes to mind when you say Kelly Clarkson, im almost POSITIVE it would be either SUBG or Breakaway. I cant see them saying Miss Independent...

You may be right Samborulz but I think Kellys transcended the Idol era and her new music is more popular than MI was. Now people hear and like her music on the radio before they realize its her. When they find out its Kelly Clarkson they can't reattach the Idol stigma collar. Shes proven she can do it on her own and shes getting mega respect from the industry and the listeners. Kellys fanbase has grown exponentially from her Idol fanbase to a more traditional pop star fanbase the same way a normal artist gains fame. Her Idol fame will always give her a loyal fanbase but superstardom is coming from the new fans shes earned with her new music. Clarkson is making great music and music fans from all corners - even the music snobs who hated Idol and people who just didn't care about Idol are loving her new music. ETA I still think if Kelly Clarkson had not appeared on the Ist season of American Idol - producing a legitimate mega talented pop star - the show would have declined to a cheesy irrelevant "Star Search" clone and would probably be gone already. Clarkson gave the viewers a miracle and they came back for more.

That's because both songs are played on the radio every 5 minutes. When I think of a signature song, it's something that has lasted with the artist for years. I have no doubt that SUBG and Breakaway are going to last with her but for the moment it's too soon to be giving her a theme song. Besides, you always hear her reffered to as "Miss Independent".

I would consider "miss independent" a noun so it's really easy to introduce her saying "here's miss independent herself".
You won't hear them intro'ing her as "here's SUBG" or "here's Breakaway". I'm sure of that, lol.
It's probably too early to tell yet what her siggy song will be. i love all of these mentioned so i wouldn't care which one it will be.
