Right, but LaLa said she broke the record. If she's number 1 tomorrow she'll be tied with the record because MATM had 22 days at #1.

Yeah, MATM has the record for 22 days. Kelly will beat that though tomorrow.

I chalk it up to Kelly's star power increasing so much since Breakaway was fighting its way to the top. Back then, she was the underdog; now, it's the ones competing against her who are the underdogs. Seriously, I am loving this year. Both of my girls are dominating the charts, and I never would have seen it coming a year ago except in my most outlandish hopes.

BTHE is one of the few cases in which TRL popularity mirrors radio popularity. Remember that both of Lindsay Lohan's singles were huge hits on the former and did nothing on the latter. Same with quite a few Britney singles (hell, Do Somethin' wasn't even a real single, but it was on the countdown anyway), although am I the only one that remembers when MATM first came out and pop stations were "premiering" it by literally playing it every hour on the hour?!? sure, it fell like a rock after that, but it managed to get to #11 or so off the back of that. I haven't watched TRL for a long ass time though.

It was a #1 hit WW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *************correction******************* US of A FLOP. Yeah on TRL its very weird.. it doesnt translate over to the Hot 100 or any other chart really Lindsay Lohan's first two singles were huge hits on TRL but obvious US flops.

It's almost impossible.

i could have sworn damein said that "The Call" by backstreet boys was #1 53 days out of 60 (old format) on TRL. are we just saying itll be the number 1 video for the 50 day format?
EDIT// i also just found a trl archive, and at the end of each year they countdown the videos that were at number 1 the most. This is from 2003
December 30th Recap: 10-Eminem - Sing For The Moment [5 Days @ 01] 09-Clay Aiken - Invisible [6 Days @ 01] 08-Justin Timberlake f/ Pharrell - Señorita [9 Days @ 01] 07-Beyoncé f/ Jay-Z - Crazy In Love [10 Days @ 01] 06-Kelly Clarkson - Miss Independent [15 Days @ 01] 05-50 Cent - In Da Club [16 Days @ 01] 04-Christina Aguilera - Fighter [16 Days @ 01] 03-Outkast - Hey Ya [19 Days @ 01] 02-Britney Spears f/ Madonna - Me Against The Muisc [20 Days @ 01] 01-Good Charlotte - The Anthem [22 Days @ 01]
so Good Charlotte has 22 days at number 1, isnt that more than what yall said britney had?

Here's a site with a list of all the #1's on TRL with the number of times they were #1. According to the #1's section, Britney (w/ Madonna) held the record with 20 days. Eminem holds the solo artist record with 25 days. No use in really listing the most days at #1 since there were different show formats in the past that wouldn't be touched now. Whatever the real number is, it looks like Kelly will beat it for the most days for a solo artist.

It used to be 65 days at the beginning, I can't believe I know that I hope BTHE gets in the "retirement home", so Kelly gets another one of those cool plaques.

Agreed. It's so weird to me that songs can be number one on TRL, but be up in the 70s on the Hot 100. And when a song is at number one on the Hot 100, it starts to fall off the countdown.
