Oh... I'm thinking more and more this could totally be shut out by SUBG.

I sure hope not. This song is about 100 times better. I think Since U Been Gone is one of the best Pop songs to impact radio in the past year. BTHE is good, I suppose, but just sounds too Avril-lite.

SUBG was a great song for Pop radio because it's very hook-y and incredibly addictive. However, in my opinion BTHE is so much stronger lyrically and vocally.

However, in my opinion BTHE is so much stronger lyrically and vocally. I agree. When I first heard the entire album I couldn't understand why BTHE wasn't chosen as the first single. Now I can see that SUBG was the right choice but other than that awesome, catchy hook, BTHE is better.

It's the production on SUBG that outshines BTHE for me.

I hope this at least makes top 10. I really don't want this single to flop. It's such a good song. Yeah, it's not as catchy as Since U Been Gone...but vocally she sounds so good on this song. I love it. I want her to at least make top 10...anywhere below that won't be good considering she has just had 2 back to back #1's.

It just wouldnt make sense.

Hopefully it doesn't pull a Jojo or something close to it. They better promote this right. It deserves Top 10.

I read on Kelly Clarkson Express that it was #2 on Z100's High Noon Countdown which is amazing...and it was #1 on Boston's noon countdown!

Hopefully it doesn't pull a Jojo or something close to it. They better promote this right. It deserves Top 10. Considering that it's almost top 50 already and it doesn't even go for adds for another 2 weeks, the chances of it pulling a JoJo are almost non-existent.

I love this song so much. It's better than both Breakaway and SUBG and I wouldn't be surprised if it hit #1 too, despite the tendency for Kelly's songs to be huge recurrents.

Great So it'll probably premiere around the end of the month? Hopefully, the video will be ready by the time Kelly's tour hits NYC so she can premiere it in person on TRL.

KELLY CLARKSON Behind These Hazel Eyes Producer(s): Max Martin, Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald Writer(s): K. Clarkson, M. Sandberg, L. Gottwald Publisher(s): Smelly Songs (ASCAP); Maratone admin. by Zomba (ASCAP); Kasz Money (ASCAP) Genre: POP Label/Catalog Number: RCA 82876-68074 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: April 09, 2005
Kelly Clarkson hits another melodic home run with "Behind These Hazel Eyes," following smash hits "Breakaway" and "Since U Been Gone." In her favor, this track turns up the guitars and percussion for her most aggressive performance to date, and yet unlike other popular young female artists, there's no posing going on here. Clarkson simply delivers a loose, tour-de-force vocal that simmers alongside a steroid-charged musical backdrop that is fun, fast and furious. She is that rare artist who is actually partnered with mainstream top 40 radio: Programmers realize that they need a talented singer to consistently balance the overwhelming wave of hip-hop, while Clarkson keeps handing off exceptionally hit-worthy material. Score a third top 10 in a row.—CT
