I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread to let others know what concerts we are going to.
I'm heading to one tonight and it's going to be Martina, Jack Ingram, and Lady A. As you all can assume, I'm SO excited to see Lady A. I haven't seen Martina live yet. One of the last times I tried getting tickets for her, she cancelled the show because of a flippin' video shoot for Whatever You Say. I was SO urked but at least I got my money back.
Friend of mine did like I did and signed up for VIP passes to meet Lady A and he won them, I didn't. However they are for 2 people so I will at least get the VIP treatment with them, which I'm really looking forward to.
Hopefully we will be able to meet them while Jack is on stage as I have NO desire to see him whatsoever, and neither does my friend.
So, with that...what are some concerts that are coming up that you guys are gonna be going to?

I get to see Miranda Lambert this Friday at the San Antonio Stock Show And Rodeo. I've heard she's not that great in concert, but I'm still more then excited anyways.

Umm whoever told you that was either jealous or lying. She is AWESOME! She's energetic, has great stage presence, and she will have you out of your seat ready to party!

I love this thread idea so thanks Steelo for starting it.
I just saw Big & Rich with opening acts Emerson Drive and then Terri Clark. Cowboy Troy was also their.
I loved Emerson Drive set and wished it was longer than 40 minutes. They were awesome as always and it was my 3rd time seeing them live. Also I got a M&G before the show but forgot my camera so someone with a digital camera got the road manager to take a pic of me with the guys and then she said she'd email it to me but she hasn't. I felt like such an idiot forgetting to bring a camera.
Terri Clark was really good also. She told us how on the way down from Prince George the truck with the lights and set went into the ditch because the road was icy. Luckily the driver of the truck was fine but that meant they didn't have the regular lights and they didn't have any fancy set for the Vancouver show.
Cowboy Troy came on and was completely awful. Then Big & Rich came on and did their thing which I don't really care for and I definitely wouldn't have gone to the show if Emerson Drive wasn't on the bill. My favourite B&R song is "Lost In This Moment" and I also liked the song "Holy Water" but that is pretty much all I liked of their set.
Next up is Rascal Flatts with Taylor Swift at GM Place on April 2nd. I've got VIP tickets through the fan club and hopefully I'll get M&G passes.
Also I'd love to go to Nashville for the CMA Fan Fest because I'd actually get to see Carrie live for the 1st time and Emerson Drive will have their fan club party plus other shows.

What a great concert that was. I can barely talk right now. Lady A was AWESOME and VERY VERY VERY nice. Jack, well he just sucked (big shocker there), so my friend and I left the set early to see Lady A for a 2nd time. Martina put on the best show I've ever seen and also looked the best I had ever seen her look in my life. Highlight for me was the encore when she sang Hit Me With Your Best Shot.

CMA Fest is well worth it if you care about country. If you're going just to see Carrie or another of your favorites, then I wouldn't suggest it. But if you are a huge country fan and want to have the time of your life, definitely go!

CMA Music Festival is one of the best things you can attend if you are a country fan. I have been for two years and have seen just about everyone I care to in the genre. It is just four days of JAM-PACKED music. And every night you see the BIG stars of country music in a great concert setting- LP Field. Go if you get the chance, I can't wait to go back.
Last week I attended the live filming of the GAC special and Grand Ole Opry CD: "How Great Thou Art: Gospel Favorites From the Grand Ole Opry". It was a lot of fun to be at the Opry when it was for TV only...it was different from other Opry experiences as all artists had to do their songs twice (or in CU's case- three times) to get good footage for TV. Ronnie Milsap, Sara Evans, Trace Adkins, Loretta Lynn, Dierks Bentley, Charlie Daniels, and Carrie Underwood were all there. Carrie messed up on "How Great Thou Art" and said "dadgumit!". It was pretty funny, but she got applause for it (and I did not understand that). But it was a GREAT show and I can't wait to see it on GAC Feb. 9th at 8PM and the LIVE CD, also recorded that night, comes out Tues., Feb. 5th.
One of my upcoming shows though will be the July 5th LP Field concert with Kenny Chesney, LEANN RIMES, Keith Urban, Sammy Hagar, and Gary Allan...well, that's if I can get some tix.

Honestly, my voice is still a little hoarse. Being 4th row ended up being about 10 ft away from the stage. Was cool to see Hillary from Lady A smile and wave as she recognized us from the meet and greet before.

They sang 5 songs. I can't remember all but there were Mason Dixon Line, All We'd Ever Need (even better live), Love Don't Live Here Anymore, Love's Looking Good on You and Lookin' For a Good Time. Guess I was able to remember them all! :)

You are quite welcome. If you have a Myspace and have them on your list of friends, check out their page. They change songs every now and then. All the songs they played in concert have been on their page one time or another.

Every time I go to the CMA Music Fest I never make it to the stadium because I'm too busy going to Fan Club parties and running around Nashville with my friends. I did actually go to the concert one night though and it was pretty awesome. It's always cool to see a random set of talented musicians perform together.

So I just came back from seeing Miranda Lambert. And let me tell you, SHE IS AMAZING. She has SO much energy, you can really tell that she LOVES performing her songs. I hope she stays around for a long while cause it's so obvious how much she loves doing what she's doing.
Here are the songs she performed in order for anyone who's interested: New Strings Gettin Ready Dry Town Guilty In Here Easy From Now On What About Georgia Bring Me Down Gunpowder And Lead More Like Her Desperation Down She sang a song that I'm assuming is titled "Stay With Me" (no, not Josh Gracin), it was uptempo. Crazy Ex Girlfriend Some other song that I'm guessing is titled "Live Like The Highway" or something to that effect. Famous In A Small Town Kerosene (of course she saved her best for last)
It is extremely impressive how she sounds almost exactly as she does on her albums. Normally, I've noticed that artists are off a little bit and sound different than they do on the album. But she was RIGHT ON. And she ain't bad on the eyes either, she's just as gorgeous as she looks on her albums too.

Thanks for the great review BBN. Hopefully people will listen to us now instead of people who said she wasn't very good, haha.
And I'm guessing the one song was "Hillbilly Highway" since that is one of her regular covers.
The "Stay With Me" sounds unfamiliar. Her other most common covers are "Travelin' Band" and "Up On Cripple Creek". Sad she didn't do either of those because they are terrific! Although if you are one of the rare few to catch her on a night she does Patsy Cline's "Crazy" you are in for a real treat!

How odd. Did I read correctly that this is their only collaboration on tour? I could possibly understand if it was included in a set of three or four songs but it seems like an odd choice for their only duet of the night. If they were just going to go with one song and wanted it mainstream, I would prefer one that focuses on their vocals...maybe Apologize. Also, do you know if more Carrie/Josh dates are expected. I really would like to go to that show.

As I said in the Emerson Drive YSOM thread I get to see the guys April 5th. They are coming to the Alabama Chocolate Festival. I haven't been in the past because of the weather but last year they had Doug Stone so this is quite a step up. There will be a lot of chocolate as you can imagine. Here's the link to the website if anyone is interested in coming in. alabamachocolatefestival.com/Also 102.5 the Bull (one of the country stations in Birmingham) have what they call a Mega Ticket package for four shows coming to Verizon Wireless Music Center in B'ham. For around 450 bucks you get two tickets to Tim Mcgraw, Toby Keith, Martina, and Brad Paisley shows that are coming this summer. You get free food, private bathrooms, the same seat to each show, parking passes, and a pre-show party. That comes out to about 60 a ticket. Not bad. I will be going to the Tim show and the Brad show for sure. Our annual Riverfest is June 13th and 14th. The only act scheduled so far is REO Speedwagon. They usually get some pretty good country acts and I can't wait for them to release who they are.

I just found out Trisha is playing a show about 15 minutes from my house on March 9th, and I'll actually be home for Spring Break so I'm going to attempt to go to that one. I'll definitely be seeing Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, and Halfway To Hazard on June 6th. I'm also hoping Brad comes around here this summer since I've seen him at least once a year over the last 4 years or so.
However, my most anticipated concert this summer is on July 26th - Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Gary Allan, LeAnn Rimes, and Sammy Hagar at Gillette Stadium. I've seen Kenny in concert for five straight summers, and it's always one of the highlights of my summer.

I'm not sure if you heard about the second batch of announced dates, so I'm just gonna list all the stops so far: March 2008 18 - Bethlehem, PA - Stabler Arena 30 - Saginaw, MI - Dow Event Center 31 - Grand Rapids, MI - Van Andel Arena 3 - East Lansing, MI - Breslin Events Center There are at least 12 more dates to be announced. Thanks. Bethlehem is about 3.5 hours away. I don't want to hold out and the remaining 12 not be anywhere close by but 3.5 is a bit far. I have a friend in Detroit so I could just spend the weekend with him and go to either Saginaw or East Lansing. Do you know if the additional 12 dates will be released soon? I don't want to wait too long and miss out on decent seats.
