Carrie Underwood in the fall of 2019 was my last concert before the COVID pandemic killed live shows. </3
Dying to go to another show again.

I’m seeing both Chris Stapleton and Sam Hunt over the summer! I’m looking forward to both shows since I’ve never seen either of them in concert.

Kassi Ashton is playing a free radio station concert here tomorrow and I literally *just* found out about it, but I am SO going. I'm excited. My first chance @ a concert since pre-pandemic days and Kassi wasn't even on my radar as a possibility to see live, but I freakin' love her!

Just got home from Alan Jackson. Music still great. But it's very clear he's having a hard time walking.

I just saw a bunch of concerts, here's my brief reviews!
Russell Dickerson: He performed for free at my local fair, and it was actually a blast! I am not too into him, but he put on a fun show. His pop-leaning stuff (She Likes It, etc) is definitely very fun live. He can sing pretty well when it's all said and done.
Jillian Jacqueline: Opened for Cam, and wow... she needs to fully come back and make it. That is one of the best live vocalists out there. She was a one woman show and practically stumbled on stage and seemed surprised anybody knew who she was. She revealed the only song from Side A & Side B that she got back from Big Loud was "God Bless This Mess", so her set was majority new stuff plus that song.
Cam: Saw "The Otherside Tour" and holy MOLY was it fun. She is so electric and clearly happy to be on stage. She also just plain looks like a star. Before the show started, like, during the build up to her walking on stage, she popped out and gave a small speech about how we all need to just feel our feels and enjoy ourselves tonight. It made for a night of a lot of tears in the room. "Diane" was so damn fun to dance to. I would see her again in a heartbeat. If this tour is coming near you, I highly recommend getting a ticket. They're cheap and so worth it. Between Cam and JJ, that night was one of the best country shows I've been to.
Chase Rice: Opened for MW, and.... eh. He's just so eh and that translated live. I was so bummed HARDY didn't open.
Morgan Wallen: This guy can perform. And he really does sound good. The crowd was incredibly drunk and full of women screaming "be my baby daddy", which, is exactly what you would expect from a MW crowd. I have not, ever, seen a crowd so enthralled with an artist before. I am not sure why he isn't playing stadiums, because that show sold out in minutes and it was full full full. I enjoyed myself and also definitely left before encore because it was a little overstimulating.

Just got home from Alan Jackson. Music still great. But it's very clear he's having a hard time walking. I'm going to see Alan here in Austin next month and as such I've went online to YouTube to check out some of his recent performances. While it's apparent he's struggling a bit more these days, I'm really excited to see him as it just might be the very last time I get to do so.

I went to the CMT Next Women of Country tour. Sacha has a ton of energy on stage and it was refreshing. I don't think most people knew who Abbey Cone is but some people did know the lyrics to "Hate Me". Maddie and Tae joked this tour has been 2 years in the making. The original date was April 2020. I don't think these were going to be the original openers.

Morgan Wade is good, but he mic was turned down way too low and the musicians were way louder than her. Also she appears to be extremely shy, which wasn't a bad thing, as I am pretty shy myself.
Elle King, without trying to be be mean here, can kick rocks. If I want to hear a profanity filled rant I'll go to a Kid Rock show. So disappointed in her. Also she was slurring the words on every song and drinking (no issue there for me) and smoking (highly illegal indoors in Minnesota). She was very drunk and high. And DAIDWGH was nothing like the radio version at all. She kept screwing up Miranda's parts too. If I was there with here as the main act I would have demanded my money back.
Also during both of their sets the sound was muffled. This is the 3rd time at Xcel Energy Center this happened at a show there I've gone to. In don't know if sound is in house or done by each artist but clear to me they have a major issue they refuse to fix. Carrie Underwood a few years ago all the opening acts had the same issue, and Shania's entire show was muffled. Nothing blocking speakers, lower bowl. i just don't understand it.
However Chris Stapletin is still freaking fantastic. It's funny that I saw him for the first time at the X exactly 5 years ago to the day.

Bummed to hear this, she was absolutely PHENOMENAL when I saw her open for Miranda in 2019. I don't care if an artist is sober or not on stage but I do care about them still functioning enough to sound good/put on a good show.

Add me to the list of people going to see Carrie Underwood!!! Bought my ticket a month ago already...y'all know how big a stan I am of her, and how much she means to me, so it goes without saying that I am unreasonably ecstatic!!! She was FANTASTIC. Time of my life. Ok review time! Like I said last night, this is hands down the best show I’ve ever seen—and I’ve even seen my other absolute fav twice this year. Carrie’s voice is in its peak and it’s different hearing her live versus hearing her live in person. So entirely different. No matter how loud we were, you could still hear her as she wailed out those glory notes (same can’t always be said for TV and other videos I feel like) and they were AMAZING. And the VISUALS… It truly was a spectacle. “Burn” was SUCH a treat to hear. I’m so happy she did that one; and the little “diamond of fire” thing she had going on was so cool. D&R was such a cute moment with Jimmie Allen too! (Who by the way, I think has a TON of stage presence. He had a lot of charisma that made for a fun opening set.) The aerials during GS and particularly CA were AWESOME. Queen of acrobatics! And queen of percussion too; “Poor Everybody Else” was ICONIC. That drum slayage ended careers. But the moment that has been in my head the most, aside from that “Church Bells” MOMENT, was when she did “Welcome to the Jungle.” She brought the house DOWN and sang the HELL out of that one. One of the biggest highlights of the show. If you haven’t got a ticket, you should change that ASAP. This is her best tour by a mile.

Carrie Underwood last night was PHENOMENAL!!!!! I have to say, that is one of - if not the - best concerts I've ever been to.
I always say I don't like the song "Good Girl" but she blasted on stage with it and I was singing every word lmao. My phone died not even halfway into her set, which was upsetting, but also kind of freeing cuz I was able to fully be in the moment and (try to) soak all the amazingness in!
So I had no idea that "Flat On The Floor" was on the setlist - I FREAKED the hell out, that's my favorite Carrie album track. I blasted it on the way to the show but wasn't expecting to hear it, so when I did, it almost ended me. "Before He Cheats" was euphoric as ever, that song kicks so much ass, and live it is just such an anthem. I don't think there was a single person not singing along at that point.
And her VOCALS. Can we talk about her VOCALS for a minute?! She sounded just as good, no make that BETTER, than she does on recording if that is even possible. The power and control she has is just... truly incredible. She did a slightly different version of "Blown Away" (at least it sounded different to me lol) and it was so stunning that I just stood there the whole time with my jaw dropped and hands in the air. I also felt the gospel when she performed "Jesus Take The Wheel" which is a song I admit I've never really cared for, lol.
I could rant more but man, I was SLAYED to the fullest extent. I knew it was going to be amazing but I was not prepared. I had the time of my life!

Completely forgot to talk about Jimmie Allen I love him and he put on a great show as usual. At one point he said that Montomgery Gentry was his favorite duo of all time and then proceeded to do an AMAZING cover of "Gone." I was singing and jumping all over the place lmao. "Best Shot" is gorgeous live, and "Freedom Was A Highway" was another highlight of his set for me. I did miss a few of his songs tho, I used the opportunity to get drinks and go to the bathroom before Carrie lol. ETA: I'm sure there's a "Concert Review" area or thread but here I am, posting it here lol. I can move it if needed

Keith Urban tonight was fantastic. He should have been CMA EOTY hands down. 2 1/2 hours of fun! As a bonus Kelsea Ballerini was in town, no idea why, and she sang We Were Us with him. Tyler Hubbard is still good.
Ingrid Andress. I'm just going to say I did not enjoy her at all. Honestly she should be focusing on a pop/AC career as that is what her music is to me.

Just throwing some reviews for my recent concerts, as I forgot about this thread...
Oct 22 - Seaforth: Vocals were decent, and setlist was pretty good, as I was familiar with most of the songs. But overall, not too memorable, and felt like a pop concert. Also did meet and greet. 2/5 - Brett Young: I recall Grady Smith not liking his concert performance at all, and I kinda got his point for some of the uptempo songs, but again, I like most of his radio singles, so it was pretty enjoyable. Also great vocal on ballad tunes. 4/5.
Nov 22 - Tyler Joe Miller: He did the 90min sets with many of unreleased songs, which I enjoyed a lot. Cover included Beer Never Broke My Heart and Something Like That, pretty standard. His style is on the traditional side than some other male country singers in Canada. Also met his parents at the seat. 3/5 - Jess Moskaluke: Cancelled... 0/5.
Dec 15 - Restless Road: Decent, more country than Seaforth, and Sundown Somewhere was my fave, but other than that, not too memorable. Also did meet and greet 2/5 - Jessie James Decker: I was really looking forward to it, but she did not start good. For the first few songs, like Lights Down Low, the percussion was too strong and I could not hear her voice clearly. Still, she was pretty fun, like the energetic cover of Man! Feel Like a Woman, and her vocal was stunning for Still Love You. - Kane Brown: This was actually more enjoyable than I expected. The vocal was very pleasant, and setlist was also strong. Glad he skipped Cool Again/Worship You, but wish he included Whiskey Sour. Audience thought Katelyn was there when he did Thank God, as he played her audio lol. 4/5
Jan 20 - Nate Haller: Percussion was way too strong for some of the songs. The vocal was not so stable, but he indeed has unique voice. I enjoyed his energy, but he may need some ballad hit songs to smooth out the setlist. 2/5 - Tenille Townes: Holy shi*t she was really good! Her vocal was fantastic for ballad, and even for the uptempo songs with the energetic guitar production, her vocal stood out. Great mixture of acoustic tunes and powerful uptempo songs. She did play many songs that I was not familiar with, but I enjoyed the set a lot. She is definitely the artist that sounds better at the concert than at home through audio. 4.5/5
Hoping to see Thomas Rhett (with Jordan and Kameron), Old Dominion (with Frank and Steven Lee), Lee Brice (with Tenille A) etc.

Yep, it was unfortunate my Vancouver show that she had to cancel due to her throat problem. Good for TJ Miller tho, as he got to play a full set in front of his family in his hometown show.
