These two websites, cclamp.radioandrecords.com and radio-locator.com have WRQQ listed as "oldies"...the station has been classic hits since Sept 1, 2006 ...WBUZ has been active rock for about a year. They play Pink Floyd, Guns n Roses, AC/DC, and several other songs by artists that are not "alternative". Why can't they get this updated? I've emailed radio and records about 3 times in the past few months and they won't update it. I tried to email radio-locator but I couldn't find a way to do it in the website. I'm sure 100000watts has them listed the right way but I'm not paying 70 bucks or whatever just to look. It makes me wonder how many other formats are listed wrong. Is there an up-to-date website that has formats listed correctly where you don't have to pay?

Radiolocator.com is the only site I know that has the most up-to-date info. You really can't get more accurate than that site.
It may be that the 2 stations you're referring to just haven't updated their most recent format change online yet. Most likely it's the stations, or the corporate bosses who own the stations who are lagging behind - not the websites.

100000watts knows when WRQQ changed formats. They say WBUZ changed from Modern Rock (aka Alternative) to Rock on September 22, 2005. As for Radio and Records not changing stations' formats in response to you, if they get the ratings from Arbitron they may not even be allowed to make corrections if Arbitron is wrong because the ratings are strictly copyrighted. You can e-mail webmaster@radio-locator.com

Thanks guys-- I miss the days when I could go into 100K watts because they update everything within a day or two. Maybe I'll get a subscription to their site one of these days. It really bugs me when they can't list the stations and formats to what they're supposed to be. Another one they have listed wrong is WUHU in Bowling Green, KY...they've been top 40 (chr/pop) for about 2 and half years, not Hot AC.

Radio-Locator is a f****** crock. They have KPVS Hilo/KLUA Kona as an AC station (it was actually a Hot AC) but it's been a Rhythmic CHR since October 2003. I don't trust them and I refuse to contact them, I have no problem with paying money for 100000watts though.

At radio-locator, they have WRBJ-FM Jackson, MS as an unknown format. It's been hip-hop for seven years now. The only thing that's changed was their call letters, from WRJH to WRBJ.
I see that they finally got around to updating WYMX Greenwood, MS as Bob-FM. I e-mailed them a year or two ago that they had switched from hot AC to classic rock in 2004 and I don't think they ever updated that.

I still think a lot of the incorrect listings, or delays in updates are linked to the stations themselves. Radiolocator is a good site - all the stations I'm familiar with are listing the correct format. But nothing is perfect; and a website can only report what information is given to them.
I'd suggest contacting the radio stations directly - either the manager or corporate office - for any inadequate listings.
