‘Red Band Society’ season 1, episode 6 stills reveal Mandy Moore’s characterBy Selina Wilken 11:30 am, November 2, 2014 Get a first look at Red Band Society season 1, episode 6, in which Mandy Moore debuts as Doctor Erin Grace. Red Band Society season 1, episode 6, “Ergo Ego,” airs this Wednesday. The show is finally back, and introducing two new players: Dr. Grace (Mandy Moore) and the patient Hunter (Daren Kagasoff). The official description of the episode reads: “Jordi makes his move after Leo abandons Emma. Then, Hunter, a new patient at the hospital, puts Kara off balance. Meanwhile, Nurse Jackson does all she can to keep Charlie at Ocean Park and, in doing so, sides with Dr. Grace.” Sounds like there’ll be some tension between Nurse Jackson (Octavia Spencer) and Dr. McAndrew (Dave Annable), especially considering that Dr. Grace is his ex-fiancée. While we’re thrilled that Jordi (Nolan Sotillo) is making his move, we doubt Emma (Ciara Bravo) will take the bait, considering that she’s clearly still hung up on Leo (Charlie Rowe). Are you looking forward to the return of Red Band Society? Fox recently announced that despite the show’s ratings problems, it had ordered additional scripts from the writers of the show, which – while not a clear renewal – is certainly a vote of confidence from the network. Homegirl has the worst luck. A D list pop star and soon-to-be D list actress once this Red Band show gets cancelled...and it will.

She's married to freakin' Ryan Adams! I'm sure she could've made a great album with him by now.

Idk. It's not like he is that consistent and I don't think their styles mesh well at all. I loved Coverage though but that's the last time i paid her any mind. Her self-titled was hot too.

Amanda was on E! News tonight promoting her role on RBS and she was talking about she has written a lot for the album and plans on beginning the recording process before the year ends. She also said she doesn't know the direction she's going in yet.

Mandy Moore is with the ‘Band’ as Fox-series guest By Jay Bobbin on November 19, 2014 - 12:01 AM “Red Band Society” has a new chief of staff, and she should look familiar. Actress-singer Mandy Moore has joined the seriocomic Fox show in a recurring guest role that she continues in tonight’s new episode. Her character, Erin Grace, has returned from an overseas experience with Doctors Without Borders … and in rejoining Ocean Park Hospital, Grace is causing very evident discomfort for her former fiance, Dr. Adam McAndrew (Dave Annable). “I’ve been trying to find something good,” says the pleasant Moore, who has made several pilots that didn’t go. She deems “Red Band Society” to be “a great show, and I’ve been having a great time with everybody. Starting with (a scene with Oscar winner) Octavia Spencer was not a bad introduction. It’s a pretty good gig.” Moore recalls that when she received the offer, “They had a sketch of who they wanted the character to be. There was really nothing to go on, but I watched the pilot and fell in love with the show. I just thought it was unique with an original voice, something I hadn’t really seen on network television. It had a lot of heart and something about it really resonated with me, so I thought, ‘Yeah. Why not?’ ” Having guest-starred on “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scrubs,” Moore muses that hospitals are familiar settings to her: “I kind of thought about that, but I think this is where it ends. Fortunately, I don’t have too much ‘doctor stuff’ to play out here. The biggest thing about my character’s presence is the backstory of the relationship she’s had with Adam. That factors in way more than her having a full caseload.” Married to singer-songwriter Ryan Adams, whose current eponymous album she’s heard on, Moore has been working on her own release that she expects to have out “sometime soon.”
Her previous one, “Amanda Leigh,” was in 2009 – the year she and Adams wed – and she reflects that “a lot has happened in my life since I last put out a record. That has found its way into the material, and we’ll figure out a way to get it out there. Music is always a big part of my life.”

I thought her 2001 era with "In My Pocket", "Crush" and "Cry" was huge, but then I found out none of those were actually hits :( Disappointing.

I checked and IMP was only released on 12'' and vinyl apparently. Guess that's why it peaked at #102.

What's Mandy Moore been up to lately?Gayle Jo Carter, USA WEEKEND 4:28 p.m. EST December 10, 2014 The third time is a charm for Mandy Moore. Her guest arc on Fox's Red Band Society has her playing a doctor on TV – finally. "I've done Scrubs and Grey's Anatomy and now Red Band. I've been a patient, a visitor and now a doctor. The trifecta has been fulfilled," she quips. Out of scrubs, the singer/actress, married to singer-songwriter Ryan Adams, is just as versatile: She's traveling: Over the past five years, she's ventured to Africa and Southeast Asia in her role as global ambassador with Population Services International. "Never having been to the developing world before, these particular trips (have) been eye-opening and life-changing in every way. When you're meeting mothers and children who are just trying to survive and protect their children, it makes you feel incredibly grateful. If you have any platform and any influence, you want to give a voice to the voiceless and share these stories. It's overwhelming the issues that people face to live healthy lives." She's watching: Transparent on Amazon. "Everybody and everything about that show was just spectacular. I love anything political: Daily Show, Colbert. I'm obsessed with Last Week Tonight. I think John Oliver's show is fantastic; he's just a great host. I love what that show represents, the stories that they uncover. I love Bill Maher. I'm a big political current events junkie in that sense." She's guilt-watching: "Nothing too salacious. My reality picks are Parts Unknown, American Pickers. I'm a big Anthony Bourdain fan so I'll still watch No Reservations reruns." She's singing again: "Sometime in 2015, there will be new music from me in some capacity. I think the whole mechanism of how to release music and what the music industry has become is something I'm still grappling with and trying to understand. Being an independent artist now and not having a record label is daunting in one sense, but it's also really freeing on the other hand. I'm trying to just navigate how to put music out these days. "She's shopping: "There's nothing better than that (Amazon) box being delivered. ... I try and strike a healthy balance between brick-and-mortar (stores) and doing some online shopping." She's listening to oldies: "I still harken back to older stuff. I'm still obsessed with Paul McCartney and Wings." She's indulging: "I lean more toward a french fry situation. I have a bit of a sweet tooth but I definitely lean more toward the savory, salty side of stuff." She's caring for a menagerie: "We have two dogs and four cats and then we take care of two feral cats outside. We're big animal rescue lovers. We leave (the feral cats) wet and dry food twice a day. They're very spoiled. They've sort of become friendly through the glass with our cats. When the dogs are upstairs and won't freak them out and bark at them, they'll come right up to the door or window and try and play with my cats. I think that's the best preparation (for children) I know of. They're my little fur babies."

Is it wrong that I'm more concerned that we'll have to wait even longer for a new album from her now, since he was working on it with her?

Is it wrong that I'm more concerned that we'll have to wait even longer for a new album from her now, since he was working on it with her? If it's wrong then we will be not-right together The Radar article mentioned that in a September interview with an Australian radio station, Ryan was strangely cagey when asked about his marriage and even hung up when the djs kept going with the questions. So they were probably already having problems then. But Mandy then said in later interviews that she plans to release something in 2015 and that her biggest thing is just trying to find a way to release music as an independent artist (see above posts, November-December). So that makes me hopeful that she has been working on stuff without him. Whatever the timeline is, I don't get the feeling that this divorce is stretching it out anymore than it already was.

Ugh she's a talented enough singer with some gems in her catalog. I can't with how long it's been since Wild Hope, so this setback sucks.

Whatever the timeline is, I don't get the feeling that this divorce is stretching it out anymore than it already was. Ugh, I hope so. It's already been almost 6 years since her last album...I need new music, and I need it soon. I just hope she has another bop like 'I Could Break Your Heart Any Day of the Week' waiting in the wings.

A little quiet on the music front, but Mandy has made some recent appearances. Her final episodes on Fox's Red Band Society aired in January: Sheriff Callie's Wild West title character now has a talking/singing doll in stores: She made a return as Rapunzel in Sofia the First: the Curse of Princess Ivy now available on DVD: and she went on Hallmark Channel's Home and Family to talk about her career: VIDEO

'All Good Things' still stands as one of the best works ever done by a 'pop era of the 2000's female'

2016 will mark re-emergence of my music: Mandy Moore Filed on September 14, 2015 | Last updated on September 14, 2015 at 8.19 am Hollywood actress and singer Mandy Moore is confident that she'll be back with a bang in 2016. "I've been working on music steadily for the last couple of years. I guess 2016 will be the re-emergence of my music. That side of my life has been dormant for too long in my opinion," Moore, who is currently on a trip to India for a social cause and is curious to learn about Indian music, said. What kept her away from music? "I was kind of nesting and taking a break in my life since I had started working at such a young age," said the multi-talented A Walk To Remember artiste, whose debut album So Real came way back in 1999. Since then, the Candy singer has doled out a total of six studio albums, including I Wanna Be with You, Mandy Moore, Coverage and Wild Hope, apart from So Real and Amanda Leigh. As for her break from music, the 31-year-old said: "Maybe, I was putting my efforts and energy into some other parts of my career." Moore referred to the fact that she has been devoting a part of her time and life to her role as the global goodwill ambassador of NGO Population Services International (PSI), which is also the reason why she came to India. "It's a big part of my life now, but I miss it (music)... I feel there's something in my heart that's not being completely fulfilled, and I have to address it," she said candidly. Moore, who split from Ryan Adams, her husband of almost six years earlier this year, also feels "refreshed" about making new music. "I've a lot to say, I have a new zest for what I want to sing about... I don't know how that's going to manifest itself necessarily, but I'm excited to figure it out," she said, and added how "the industry has changed tremendously" since the time she forayed into the music world.
Contemplating on the changing dynamics of music globally, she said: "The means by which people consume music is completely different now. There's so much content out there, and there are so many different mechanisms through which you can release music now... that's exciting as an artiste."On the film front, she has finished filming 47 Meters Down, an underwater survival thriller, directed by Johannes Roberts. "It's totally shot underwater in Thailand. It was a pretty interesting and crazy experience," recounted Moore, adding that "I'm at that point of my life when I want challenges... I want something new, and want to be able to learn something". In the meantime, she is also flexing her vocal skills as Rapunzel for a TV series based on the 2010 animation entertainer Tangled, in which she famously gave a voicever to the lead character and even sang I See The Light. "The show is going to be really cool. I have started work on that and there's music in that as well... It will be worth the wait, and I'm sure we will do a good job with it," she said.

Thank God!
Does anyone else think her self-titled album was actually better than what most of the "pop girls" were releasing at the time? It's so underrated. Songs like "In My Pocket," "Saturate Me" and "One Sided Love" were extremely experimental for a young artist in the teen pop field. At the time, it wasn't a big deal, but in retrospect it just sounds so progressive and full of maturity.

I remember liking even some of the bubble gum songs on the album too, LOVED 17. I wasn't a big fan of Crush and wish they would've picked a different second single. Split Chick was the only one I couldn't stand.
