I don't think anyone can deny that this sounds like a hit. It's very well written and well produced. (anyone know by who?) However, it would be a HUGE shocker if it reached the Top 30 of the CHR airplay chart.

Holy s**t. This might already be impacting the Top 40 by Friday. #47 (up 109 spots), a +633, and an audience of 10 million all in a damn wk. A lot more than Pulse expected.

Go BSB!!! Top 50 debut! Plus, Brian is headed top 20 on Christian AC with "In Christ Alone." BSB - a multi-format, multi-talented group!!! :)

If PDs knew this track was going to be so hot, then why did it get like 2 pre-impact adds? Now it has almost a +850, and no one cared to add it before? If there's not a decent explanation for this, then I'm smellin money in the mail again...

Definitely one of their better songs. I used one of my freebies from iTunes and downloaded it last night.

I bet research is coming back strong on this song....both from hardcore fans, and young to middle age females. I'm still not sure if it can go all the way, but it appears to have a decent shot now.

What did Drowning do? Did it crack the Top 20?

"Drowning" I believe made it up to #29 on the Hot 100. I'm not certain, though.
Anyone know where "The Call" peaked, and why it didn't get much airplay? It sounded pretty solid to me.

Their gain is impressive!
Usually I don't like BSB but this song is beautiful. Hope their return will be successful

I noticed that too, it was #13 when I checked this morning. Expect a top 40 debut on the hot 100 and probably top 25 on the billboard pop 100. Could even be higher, as it is starting to pick up slowly at hot ac too. Could be intersting to see which debuts higher...their single or the idols the following week! I noticed this morning it was added to the iTunes store for any of you that are dying to have it.

It's the same old same old bland crap that BSB always serves up. So I guess in today's radio atmosphere of playing crappy music, it fits right in.

Does anyone think that the huge jump in spins so early might just be because they are touring soon through all the markets that have put this in high rotation?
Not many artists tour before their records comes out, and BSB haven't toured in a while, so I was thinking the high Power spins might just be from tour hype.

I just heard the song on my local pop radio station. I think it was #8 on the "Hot 8 at 8." I caught the end of the song and I didn't recognize it at first but then I figured it out it must be the new Backstreet Boys song. It was not as bad as I was expecting, but I can't say I really like it.

I have to admit, these gains are impressive.
It's rising because of hype though. As far as longevity goes, time will tell. But this is a great start, even if it's only hype. If it sells well, this could be their biggest Hot 100 hit since "Shape Of My Heart" -- which isn't really saying much considering that was basically their last hit.

BACKSTREET BOYS Incomplete Producer(s): Dan Muckala Writer(s): D. Muckala, L. Robbins, J. Cates Publisher(s): various Label/Catalog Number: Jive/Zomba 69166 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: April 16, 2005
When one artist commands four songs in the top 10 of The Billboard Hot 100—here's looking at you, 50 Cent—perhaps there is no better signal that top 40 radio is potentially suffocating listeners with its one-dimensional focus. Poof: Here is an antidote. It's the return of the Backstreet Boys, and with a ballad at that. Pretty nervy, huh? Fortunately, "Incomplete," the quintet's launch single from new album "Never Gone" (due in June), is an emotion-packed, grown-up tome about relationship struggle and strife, something that the Boys' original audience—who are all probably licensed drivers by now—may be able to relate to. Vocally, BSB aim for a more organic edge, though for better or worse, the act sounds an awful lot like Blessid Union of Souls or Bryan Adams here. The time has come for spring cleaning, and this song suits the airwaves like crisp white sheets.—CT
