^Chris has a great voice! So I can't imagine why it wouldn't sound good with kelly.
I am excited for that possible duet, but I cannot wait to hear Kelly's first single... It better leak soon!

I thought we heard it had been scrapped because they couldn't get Chris's vocals to sound good enough with Kelly. Er... I don't think it was him not sounding "good enough" with Kelly. It may have just been a blending problem in general. Does anyone remember/know what the original statement was about the track not working out?

The person who said that joined the Express just to give information on the album. He was an intern at RCA, was somewhat a fan of Kelly's, but what he seemed to want to do was impart some inside information on the album to a Kelly fansite. He said pretty much what neverafan said about the duet. He said that it was scrapped because they didn't like how Chris sounded on it. I don't know how he sounded because I've never heard it and I'm not saying Chris sounded bad because I can't imagine he would have because he has a great voice, but that is what the insider had to say about it.

Exactly - I'm sure Chris sounded on key... but his voice is suitable for a particular sound, in my opinion.

From what I can remember, they just didn't like the vocals in general. I don't think it was Kelly or Chris's vocals in particular, just a blending problem, like you said. The original posts about the duet and why it was scrapped were deleted, and I only read them once, so I don't remember much about them. I do have the first post about it saved on my computer, here's the part about the duet:

I remember reading specifically that the label had a problem with Chris's vocals. I'm not saying he is a bad singer as I enjoy many of his songs but I remember reading that. I actually hope they make it work out but that insider had said it was scrapped.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEE! And thanks to everyone for bringing the news over. I'm trying to limit my KCE visits until I can renew my yuku subscription. (Why do textbooks have to cost a fortune?) I didn't realize it had expired until last week. Bad me.

Chris has a certain style of singing- he's incredible on "Home"- but I can see how some voices would not blend too well together- plus Kelly could easily be overpowering to anyone singing with her- she has a big voice..
I was excited about thier song together but it wasn't good, i'm glad they had the sense to scrap it. I am anxiously awaiting Kelly's new single. But i won't sugarcoat it- if I don't think it's that great, like I did with "Never Again," I'll be saying it.

This is the site he's talking about.. www.kellyclarksonweb.com/This made my heart accelerate more than just a bit in excitement !!!! I am so bloody stoked for this new record and to think that this could be the week of the big reveal (could 01.01.09 be the big day ??) Big kudos to RCA and the KC people this go around for keeping this entire project under such wraps :)

Maybe the duet will be on Chris' album.
I'm sure we'll hear it somehow at some point. There are many fans who were looking forward to it.

Sometimes the links to this thread while in the K-Z section send me to a google ad instead of the thread. And if I point my cursor to underline diferent pages as if I might click on it and view it, they all have a google ad as the "link"- this is the 2nd time it has happened and they've both been this Kelly thread I refreshed the K-Z page and then the links were back to the real pulse links.

Best Country Show of 2008: Kenny ChesneyWednesday, December 31, 2008 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette John Heller/Post-Gazette Kenny Chesney didn't disappoint the masses at Heinz Field in June.It was another healthy year for country music in Pittsburgh and beyond with big stars and packed houses on hand to cheer them on. 1. Kenny Chesney Poets & Pirates Tour Caravan (Heinz Field, June 14): This town loves Chesney -- and he loves them right back. His blue-collar sensibilities and work ethic fit here perfectly. Fans come to rock and he delivered it straight on. Add A-listers LeAnn Rimes and Keith Urban to the bill and it was the country music event of the year. (Rosa Colucci) 2. Brad Paisley (Post-Gazette Pavilion, Aug. 17): Paisley is one of the best guitarists in country music and he showed his skills throughout, even tossing in a video duet with B.B. King. West Virginians invaded the place for the hometown boy and he even treated them to "Country Roads." (Tony Jovenitti) 3. Dolly Parton (Benedum Center, April 22): From her spot-on band, to the backdrops and video clips to her personal collection of rhinestone-encrusted musical instruments (including a white-baby grand piano) it was a "Dolly-style dream" in every way. The real star of the show was that incomparable voice. (Colucci) 4. Tim McGraw (Post-Gazette Pavilion, July 6): McGraw's show, loaded with No. 1 hits, was special because it was the last show of his tour, and he pulled out all the tricks. He had special guests, pranks, and the crowd was up the entire time. (Jovenitti) 5. Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire (Mellon Arena, Oct. 17): Stylistically, it kept ping-ponging back and forth between pop-rock and country (and Reba should have shied away from some of Kelly's tunes), but there was no questioning the blend of their voices, which harmonized gorgeously. ^ Wow, that's awesome. Thanks neally!Considering that the Kelly-Reba pairing was quite a risk for both women, and something of a ground-breaker, I think being selected as the 5th best tour is awesome. Some of the music they made together was just great. I wish there was a CD of their best performances from that tour.
