Chris has an OK voice, but he sings catchy songs and obviously is a good songwriter. Kelly has a world class voice. I doubt many people would put Chris and Kelly in the same league vocally.
I have a feeling that their voices just didn't mesh well together.

LOL... seriously?? "The picture is even made more perverse by sparkles on the lollipop which resemble semen." Really?? So God forbids that anyone eats a lollipop again... because they are eating a penis! D= Anyway, this means nothing but extra promotion... LOL

sbp17 you did write far too much and made far too many sensible points for me to counter! ;)
I can't argue with you - you don't need to write a song to strike an emotional connection with it. The Reba tracks were a good example, but as much as Reba can convey the emotion of the person in a certain situation and make it relate to you I would still listen to it knowing in the back of my mind she can't personally share the true emotion of the song, she can give it a damn near perfect shot at it like she does but still not 100% capture it unless she shared the same experience. I still maintain myself personally wouldn't enjoy Because Of You as much if I didn't realize the significance of it
I also don't mind listening to songs not written by Kelly because I know she will give an awesome performance either way. You are right in all the points you make but I would still preferably hear songs written by Kelly because we have been on such an emotional journey with her.
It's all about how we relate to music I suppose. At the end of the day though we can agree whoever writes an amazing song is irrelevant as long as you enjoy it. My other favourite artist didn't write a sentance on her album but I still love her and the album to death

I wouldn't be shocked if Kelly's ego was hurt a little and decided not to write as much. I mean she was humiliated through the press.

Obviously I am a fan, but it is a possibility I didn't really know how to word it without sounding like a hater lol!

So, I don't care if she writes or not, as long as she interprets each song she choses from the heart like she's done time and again. She's absolutely phenomenal either way. Thanks for adding your thoughts to this discussion. I think performances like these (and dozens of others by Kelly of songs she didn't write) support every point you made: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Gkcj6vcWZcwww.youtube.com/watch?v=ilyoScPXgI4

About Daughtry/Kelly, I happen to have visited many of their respective boards and I would say the majority of people got really excited over it. Casual fans don't overthink everything. Most people really thought this was a great duet idea.
I would really like to hear it. No doubt it would be successful.

Hi, I have heard Kelly Clarkson is covering a couple of your songs? Is this true? I've never heard of ya until I heard this and your music is awesome, and I could totally hear Kelly singing All I Ever Wanted!

Can someone explain to me why people don't want a Daughtry/Kelly Clarkson song? Both have great voices and have a track record of singing great songs. It makes no sense to me why people don't want the song. I, for one, am dying to hear it. I might be in the minority but I'm a huge fan of both so when I first heard the news, I was beyond thrilled. It's a dream come true for this fangirl. ![:-*](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/kiss.png) I've seen negative reactions from both fanbases (especially on one) but I just let it slide off because I think just with with any fanbase there would always be a section that think that one is too good to deserve the other (and there's nothing wrong with this - it's natural for any fan to feel this) to do a duet. At the end of the day though, it doesn't matter because like what justmusicjunkie said the general/casual public don't over think that much and they are intrigued/excited with the possibility that two of the most successful Idols (who are both in the pop/rock genre) are teaming up. JMO. :) I guess it doesn't really matter anyway since it was scrapped and maybe it's for the best. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) I still wish we'd get to hear it somehow just because! ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif)

All I Ever Wanted is really cool! I don't like the other one. It sounds like a Fall Out Boy song.
Is Howard Benson producing the Aranda tracks? If he is, then it would be really cool. I bet it would sound like the production he did for AAR.

I think he is.
ETA: I know for sure he did All I Ever Wanted. I'm not sure about the other one, he probably did it since he did the first one.

^ Awesome! I didn't realize Howard is producing that many tracks in this album. He seems to be producing even more than Ryan! :o

The main insider at the Express, KellyOwnsMyWorld, said that he's the main producer of the album. Not quite sure how I feel about that, but I'll need to hear the music. ![:-P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Ah, gotcha. It should be interesting. I haven't seen (or heard lol) Howard produce pop tracks yet so I know what you mean. I still can't even imagine him producing "Hook Up" but for what's it's worth - he's an amazing producer. Very detailed and quite a perfectionist. I've seen the BTS he did with other albums and he's very hands-on.

The 2009 music preview
Our annual guide to the biggest albums hitting the shelves in the year aheadBy DARRYL STERDAN -- Sun Media MARCH U2 No Line on the Horizon After bumping it from last fall, the Irish arena-rockers will release their 12th album in five different versions -- everything from a single-disc edition to a box set. (March 3) Neko Case Middle Cyclone Alt-country's favourite siren welcomes members of The Band, Los Lobos, Calexico, The Sadies, and The New Pornos to her first album in three years. (March 3) Kelly Clarkson Title TBA Clarkson's 2007 CD My December was dogged by low sales and a feud with Clive Davis. Can the slightly faded AmIdol bounce back with this fourth release? (March 17) OUCH..... :( Pearl Jam Ten The Seattle grunge icons' 1991 debut gets the deluxe reissue treatment, complete with demos, bonus tracks and a new mix from longtime producer Brendan O'Brien. (March 24) The Decemberists Hazards of Love Colin Meloy describes his literate indie-pop troupe's fifth CD as "mossy and evil." We don't have a clue what that means -- but we sure are intrigued. (March 24) Diana Krall Quiet Nights The Canadian jazz icon -- and wife of Elvis Costello -- finally returns from maternity leave. Judging by that title, we expect a soothing set of lullabies. (March 31) Keith Urban Title TBA Those who can't get enough of the country-pop hunk -- ie, every female above the age of puberty -- will have something to look forward to this spring. (March 31) Black Eyed Peas The END According to will.i.am, it stands for The Energy Never Dies -- and it will be more of a "music diary" than an album. Whatever -- that still doesn't make up for My Humps. (March) jam.canoe.ca/Music/2009/01/02/7903121-sun.html

I find it funny that people call themselves "insiders" when they haven't really revealed anything we haven't seen elsewhere before (most of what is supposedly being labeled insider info was already put out there by that person that ended up getting fired from RCA).

"Masquerade" sounds intriguing. The one-word album titles seem to work for Kelly. Wonder if there will be title track?

I don't know- expectations for this comeback have become insanely high- and insiders bragging about some inevitable huge succes sets up this ridiculous possible crash and burn- I hope it all turns out okay.
