Strange that We Belong Together by Mariah which is sitting at number 12 this week on the Billboard Hot 100 hasnt debuted yet on this chart.

Not that strange, since it only just hit R&R's Pop top 40 within the last week or two.

On the corresponding R&R chart, it's at number 39, so it would have been amazing if it had debuted this week.

Remember - we haven't been able to fairly compare the Billboard Hot 100 with a CHR/Pop airplay chart for years. All comparisons became invalid the week that they switched the chart methodology back in late November, 1991. Fantasia's song "I Believe" debuted at number one on Billboard, yet didn't even make a dent in the R&R or AT40 chart at any time.

Yeah. "We Belong Together" might not make AT40 for a couple weeks yet knowing the way that chart works. I'm surprised that "Incomplete" and "Hollaback Girl" didn't go up more than they did. Only 12 and 14 notches respectively? Maybe they'll both be Top 20 on there next week. And PLEASE, they need to get rid of "She Will Be Loved" before it breaks 3DD's record!

Oh, pop should be lucky! "She Will Be Loved" finally left the Top 10 on the HotAC version of the AT40.

Yeah, I was thinking the very same thing when I saw that Backstreet Boys and Gwen Stefani weren't in the Top 20.
I wonder if Ryan will do some sort of chart purge next week. That would be exactly six months after the last one he did. That way, Maroon5 would definitely fall off the chart (unless it pulls a "Taking You Home") along with other moldy old songs that have long since gone recurrent on the R&R chart ("Breakaway" comes to mind...)
