No Dawn for the album, but for the tour? Correct. If she isn't going to do the album then she shouldn't reep the rewards of this tour.

Dawn is the main draw for the group anyway. People don't want En Vogue without Dawn. They'll make more money off the tour having her on board. She didn't want to sign with the shitty Rufftown deal, and I don't blame her. The project is off to a terrible start.

What do you think is the reason the 4 of them have not been able to sign with a more reputable independent label like Verve? They have signed artists with less commercial success than EnVogue.

It's a travesty that they've never won a Grammy.

En Vogue, Jamey Johnson bring diverse sounds to Toad Suck stagePosted: April 27, 2012 - 6:52pm By Richard Duke LOG CABIN STAFF WRITER Grammy-nominated group En Vogue will bring their soul act to the main stage at Toad Suck Daze this year. En Vogue will be joined by country recording artists Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser and Drake White, Christian pop singers Jonny Diaz and Todd Agnew. En Vogue is the latest in top-flight acts who have made their way to the Toad Suck stage. The group enjoyed its most success in the mid-1990s where they won more MTV Video Music Awards than any other female group in history. The group’s album “Funky Divas” went triple platinum and featured the hits “Free Your Mind,” “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It)” and “Giving Him Something He Can Feel.” They are also widely known for their collaboration with rap group Salt-N-Pepa on “Whatta Man.” The group in different forms have appeared in several movies and television shows including “A Different World” and “Batman Forever.” Three of the original members remain with the group. Jamey Johnson is a songwriter, who has penned songs for Trace Adkins, George Strait, James Otto and Jessie James. Johnson’s most recent album, “The Guitar Song,” reached No. 1 on the U.S. Country chart and has been certified gold. That was a follow-up to his platinum album “That Lonesome Song,” which featured the hits “In Color” and “High Cost Of Living.” Johnson’s other hits include “The Dollar,” “My Way To You,” “Playing The Part,” and “Heartache.” Randy Houser is another country star who has written songs for his musical cohorts. Although he is best known for singing “Boots On” and “Anything Goes,” he also co-wrote the hits “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” for Trace Adkins and “Back That Thing Up” for Justin Moore. Houser’s most recent album is “They Call Me Cadillac,” and he has been nominated for five Country Music Association Awards. Drake White is a singer and songwriter residing in Nashville, Tenn. The Alabama native ad-libs throughout a show, frequently involving the audience. He credits many country, blues, rock, freestyle and bluegrass influences that forms his musical sound that is unique in its own way. Jonny Diaz has a song style that can be compared to Jason Mraz and John Mayer. Recording for the past nine years, Diaz released his major label album “More Beautiful You” in 2009, which featured the hit title track. He has appeared as an opening act for Steven Curtis Chapman and MercyMe among others. Todd Agnew, who has been recording since 1997, is widely known for his version of “Amazing Grace” called “Grace Like Rain.” Agnew has released eight albums, the most recent being “How To Be Loved” in 2012. En Vogue to play with Pittsburgh SymphonyPosted: Monday, March 12, 2012 2:43 pm PITTSBURGH -- They might have to free their minds first, but fans of both En Vogue and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra could have a blast together June 29 at Heinz Hall. En Vogue will join the PSO on stage that night for the symphony's ninth annual Community Partners Concert. En Vogue was one of the most successful female R&B groups of the 1990s, selling more than 8 million albums and cracking the Billboard Top-10 with "My Lovin'," "Giving Him Something He Can Feel," "Hold On," "Free Your Mind" and a smash collaboration with Salt 'n' Pepa, "Whatta Man." A quartet back in the day, En Vogue is mostly a trio now, with original members Maxine Jones, Cindy Herron-Braggs and Terry Ellis touring worldwide and embarking on TV and film projects. A fourth original member, Dawn Robinson, maintains a limited role with the group, and isn't scheduled for the Pittsburgh performance. En Vogue will perform with the PSO in the second half of a concert conducted by the symphony's Lawrence Loh. The first half will feature cellist Gabriel Cabezas, winner of the senior division of the 2012 Sphinx Competition, which aims to encourage, develop and recognize classical music talent in the African American and Latino communities. As part of the PSO's Community Partners program, 25 Pittsburgh area nonprofits sign on as "partners" for the concert, and will be asked to sell at least 50 tickets. Patrons may visit pittsburghsymphony.org or call the PSO box office at (412) 392-4900 or (800) 743-8560 to buy tickets and earmark the cost of their purchase to benefit a participating partner organization.

They have an absolutely awful label deal. The label isn't even releasing the material they've recorded. They should have known better than to sign with a label that has basically no track record. At least Dawn knew better.
