I don't know why that stat surprised me.

Yeah, it's a testament to Kelly's current power that a touching, emotional pure power ballad is doing so well already. I love this song, but I never would've expected it to fit in the current radio climate, unlike her previous two singles.

I hope that RCA will also send the acoustic version to radio stations to get it played. I love the acoustic version more than the original version.

Damn Kelly. I see my worry about this release (at least to CHR/Pop) was unfounded. As was my worry about BTHE. Clearly this girl is bigger than I thought, and good on her for it.

Yeah, it's a testament to Kelly's current power that a touching, emotional pure power ballad is doing so well already. I love this song, but I never would've expected it to fit in the current radio climate, unlike her previous two singles. It was a very smart move to wait a bit deeper into the era to release BOY as a single. It's the sort of song that takes a bit more time to grow on listeners than SUBG or BTHE, but because Kelly has had a string of massive hits and has been enjoying consistent album sales, radio will give it the chance to grow, where they might not have if she released it as the first single. I really love me some Acoustic!Kelly (the Live @ VH1 performances are some of my favorite performances of this era, and I love the way she performs BOY on tour, accompanied only by a piano). I hope she releases an acoustic EP in time for the holiday shopping season and/or performs for Clear Channel's new Stripped series (could there be more of a win-win situation than making the fans and Clear Channel happy at the same time? ). Kelly is doing a live chat with her official fanclub this Wednesday, and I'm definitely going to submit a question about more acoustic stuff.

This song is off to an AWESOME start! Has a bullet near +1000 and almost all stations have added it. Definitely top 10...probably top 5...maybe top 3...and a chance at number 1. I do think this might stay between 5 and 10...with THREE other Kelly songs in radio rotation, this latest single might hit a brick wall.

Wow! I'm quite impressed that the bullet is already at almost +1000! I am still predicting a #1 here, currently she is the "it" girl at radio, coming off 3 of the biggest hits in the past year, I think another top 5 is almost certain, and with the lack of much else right now she should have an easy entry to the top spot I think. I also predict a very long chart run, I think she could easily maintain a bullet until November and I don't think this is going away until February, this will be a huge hit for the fall and it fits perfectly with the season.

It will continue to do better over the next several weeks since radio stations will be dropping summer type songs after Labor Day?

I wonder why "Walk away" is #120 @ Pop... maybe last single?

I wonder why "Walk away" is #120 @ Pop... maybe last single? I certainly hope so. I've already to chart that song on my own charts... but I remember Kelly said this was not one of the choices for her next single.

IMO she'll go with it or "Gone". Maybe one of the two songs that sound more "rock" - "Addicted" and "Hear me".

Walk Away is on the chart because one station in Atlanta put it into regular rotation. I'm pretty sure that Addicted will be the next single, based on what Kelly has told fans at post-concert meet & greets.

Well, that's okay (the decision to release Addicted).
But I'm still pulling for Walk Away! I LOVE that song!

I predict her bullet will be close to or a little over 1000 at one point. ;) +1069!!! I love it when I'm right.

This song fits perfectly with the fall season. Hopefully #1 soon. Fall = season of the ballads! DHT #1 soon and then this!

has the video been shot??? Or is this a rumour? The video for Kelly Clarkson's next single has been shot. "Because of You" was written by Kelly when was 16 years old and it tells the tale of how she lived in a broken home. An alcoholic and very verbally abusive father and a mother who did nothing to stop this because she was afraid.
The video features Dakota Fanning (War Of Worlds, Hide & Seek) as a young Kelly who goes through her fathers drunken escapades, and curling under her bed and in the closet when she witnesses her mother being physically and verbally assaulted. All the while, Kelly plays a sort of guardian angel screaming out the pain for young Kelly.
The video features a stunning ending that will not only leave you shocked, but praising Kelly for her seriousness as an artist.
Look for the video in late August as it will be an amazing video.

Congrats Kelly on ur recent success! Im so glad shes makin it big in the UK as well! Now if only LeAnn Rimes......... lol!

Dakota Fanning? *puke*
Actually, I don't believe that. It's supposed to have been Kelly's concept again, and I doubt she would portray her father as a drunkard.

Kelly's father wasn't an abusive alcoholic (see the following quotation from Kelly's explanation of the song: ), and the video isn't even being shot until September. Plus, I'm pretty sure that if there is a "young Kelly" in the video, she will be played by the daughter of Kelly's musical director.
