Now that "Single Ladies" has phased out, it's been falling pretty fast as it has, in favor of getting both "Halo" and "Diva" some spins, depending on the station.

I assume that these songs are not moving up as fast as one would expect, probably because their rotation status is secondary to some other singles currently on the chart, which have essentially taken away the bulk of Beyonce's spins - "Right Round" and "Dead and Gone" are among some of the songs obviously benefitting from this judging by how they climbed up the charts this past week.

"Halo" is receiving more spins than "Diva" at the moment - so it's almost a replication of what radio did with "If I Were a Boy"/"Single Ladies" when her album first came out. "Halo" is receiving substantial airplay on CHR, perhaps later on Hot AC. "Diva" is already huge on both the Rhythmic and Urban formats.

That's the consequence of having two singles out at once - either one will benefit at the expense of another or both could fail depending on how radio stations decide to allocate them according to rotation status on their playlists.

I'm starting to think the same thing too, especially with the latter.

The public Mediabase music site (which included "What Was That Song?" links to America's Music Charts, Rate the Music among other features) also remains down. The one thing that annoys me is that while websites of radio stations show the songs they've played, are the errors that tend to occur:
- Wrong artist/title
- Skipping of one or more songs during a station's typical music block (i.e. 9 songs in a row every hour).

This does not happen if it's powered by either Nielsen BDS or Mediabase.

I wonder if Mediabase has received any messages or feedback regarding this matter over the last month or so...

Don't trust the AllAccess update just put up. It's called itself an update, but all it's done is take the last afternoon update and record a zero spin movement for everything, resulting in false bullet information.

Another reason not to trust it is that Mediabase itself hasn't even updated yet.

EDIT: It appears the Mediabase chart itself has also put up the erroneous update, but the Quick Cut hasn't updated yet.

If "Circus" loses #1 by Sunday night, it'll reinforce my belief that the pattern of songs hitting #1 and how long they stay #1 have basically become completely arbitrary. I mean, "Circus" has basically been a comfortable #1 all week so far and NOW she suddenly goes from gaining around 100 per update to losing 30 or so? I'm sorry, but that reeks of some influence in radio suddenly maneuvering to change #1s just because it can and it wants to.

And it's not just "Circus" either...I feel like this has been a continuous thing ever since November.
