This week it was 1989. If I'm not mistaken, they actually did this chart two years ago, though with a couple different replacement songs. Given that, I was hoping they'd do 1986 this week instead, since that would be the top 40 from my birthday, but it appears they'll do that year next week.

The VJs played the following substitute songs:
#26 - Emotional Rescue - Rolling Stones #22 - Ride Like The Wind - Christopher Cross.
Also, some bad editing as Nina Blackwood introduced the #2 song instead of #7...She introduced Paul McCartney's "Coming Up", but they played "Cupid" by the Spinners (and later Nina's segment repeated in its propper spot).
Nina also back announced #15 as "Take Your Time (Do It Right) By The S.O.S. Band, but they played #15 Let Me Love You Tonight by the Pure Prairie League. ("Take Your Time" was actually played at #29)

The VJs played the following substitute songs: #26 - Emotional Rescue - Rolling Stones #22 - Ride Like The Wind - Christopher Cross. Thanks; I've edited them in my post above. I've noticed it seems like any time the Rolling Stones have a song hovering outside the top 40, it seems to find its way in as a replacement.
