And it is true. As in the Greenville/Cleveland MS area. WZYQ-FM (103.5) and KZYQ-FM (101.9) dropped their respected formats (oldies and hot AC respectively) for--you guessed it--urban with a midday and nighttime hybrid of urban AC. The switch was made as of January 19 with the debut of the Russ Parr Morning show. To the listeners who love the change will never go through radio hell again!

That part of Mississippi has been radio hell for a long time. Almost everything up there is satellited. Hopefully I'll get to hear when I make my way up there again soon. Are the stations satellited?

The 'ZYQs is believed to be partially live but will have live announcers for afternoons and quiet storm as well as a board op for Russ Parr. But as it looks they still need to get some of the bugs and kinks out in order for the urban/urban AC-hybrid to be properly fine-tuned.
