Top 20! That's fantastic. I guess that makes this quibbling irrelevant. The Pulse, I assume your info is good, because I have sent it to interested parties.

Well, congrats to Luke and Max for their role!
It's a measure of my ignorance of the industry that I don't know how it can be 17 for Billboard and in the 30s on Mediabase. Of course, I assume they're assessing different aspects of success.

36hz, the Hot 100 measures both radio airplay AND sales of the single (internet downloads). Since radio hasn't warmed up to it yet it's still #40 on Mediabase. However, its internet sales have done so well that it's in the top 10 on those charts. The combo puts him at #17 on Hot 100.
#17 on hot 100 is pretty awesome! Hopefully radio (more than just Z100) will give it a chance now.

He released a physical single? ??? Yeah, when did this happen? Whats the tracklisting? It doesnt seem like it would be a 12" maxi either. Anyway, it might help on The Hot 100. Selling like an extra 5000 copies really did help Madonna and Beyonce

ANGEL TRUMPS 'HEAVEN': There are two songs in the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 that weren't on the chart last week. In addition to "Control Myself" making a re-entry, former O-Town member Ashley Parker Angel makes his first solo appearance on the tally with "Let U Go" (Blackground), the Hot Shot Debut at No. 17.
That's the highest new entry of 2006. Just last week, Red Hot Chili Peppers tied the record set by Pink's "Stupid Girls" (LaFace) in February by debuting at No. 24.
Angel's debut at No. 17 marks the highest new entry on the Hot 100 since Bo Bice's "Inside Your Heaven" bowed at No. 2 the week of July 9, 2005.

WOW at #12!!! Up to #37 (+160) but it lost 16 spins in NYC within the past week - down to #14. Two days later... Bullet up to 187, but NYC has dropped 23 spins, down to #22.

Z100 is playing it less because they can only have a song in Power Rotation for 3 weeks (before it was in "new power rotation".... This is so they can research the record more quickly by making it more familiar). So they are saving it for when we need it.... Same thing happens with ALL new artists and most old too. More importantly the callout research is #11 which means that the listeners want it to be at least top 15 prob top 10. This is why this song theoretically should pick up spins a lot now.

Luke, when will airplay go up again? Didn't you mention something awhile back that they cut down airplay for awhile to reserve it until they want to put it into higher rotation again? When will that be?
And is just me or has Ashley lost some momentum? I think it would have beeen good if the series was still airing now, even in reruns. I'm kind of worried since I dont think Ive seen much promo and the album is coming out this week! Was he kind of hurt by Celebrity Cooking Showdown being cancelled? I could have seen Ashley getting major promo or at least some means of keeping his name out there with that show for like their finals (if they had it)
Let U Go seems to be re-rising on iTunes though!

When Ashlee Simpson released "Autobiography", her show was only a few weeks old. The season finale was actually when she released the record, which was like a month and half after it actually happened - so she had her momentum (and show) as the record was being released.
Ashley's show, on the other hand, was stopped with the new episodes. What they should of done was kept filing a few more eps until the record was released, so he wouldn't have lost his momentum.

I'd like to make a prediction. I think that not only will the album APA STYLe be a hit, it will eventually be looked upon as a classic. The songs will leapfrog each other at the top of the charts. The release of "I'm Better," for example, will cause "Let U Go" to go higher than it did on its own.
This opinion is based on the appeal of the five or so songs I have heard so far, and on how the album seems to express a consistent theme: an appreciative look back on and excited anticipation for the course of one's life.
I'll be watching with a lot of interest to see if my prediction comes true. I figure the "classic" status should take about two years to establish itself.
And no, I do not work in the industry! I am just a music lover who is especially interested in APA's career.

The second season needs to air pronto... I think it's too late already. From what I've read he doesn't have that much promo--well he has done shit this week. TRL won't do much.

Yeah, I agree Derek. He should have had the show time with the album release like Ashlee.
36hzdq51, I dunno about that. I havent heard the album, but at this point it kind of seems hard to see if it will be a hit since the promo doesnt seem to be there.

With that said, "I'm Better" is an AMAZING song that desrves to be Top 5 if not number 1. I haven't heard the album yet, but Ashley seems like a great guy and I wish him success (especially since "I'm Better" is such a great song).
