Yes, he's been copying Dees ideas for some time now.  Break Out = Sure Shot.  Funny, he never copied a Kasem idea. 

The only thing original (on a CHR countdown) about Seacrest is the excessively long Hollywood interviews (5 minutes or more).  OTH, Leeza Gibbons has been doing this for years for the Hot AC market.  At least, Leeza keeps the interviews short.

TRL weekend countdown has been using Hollywood interviews for years, so I guess it's not even original for a CHR countdown.

We had full closing credits this week & Seacrest pimped both of his TV shows. The most interesting thing to note is Nick V. (not sure on spelling) was mentioned as a producer. He works several years as a producer for the Weekly Top 40 before quitting about the time Premeire dropped Dees show.

It all makes sense why AT40 sounds so much like WT40 and Seacrest is copying Dees ideas, Nick (Vestudo). Same producer = same results.

WTF is Matisyahu doing on the countdown anyway? On the corresponding R&R chart (April 14), the song falls to #40. Granted, it does have a bullet, but here's where it gets good; on the April 21 chart, the song slips to #44 WITHOUT a bullet. I sure hope that the song isn't on AT40 next week, because that totally would NOT make any sense.

Moreover, next week is probably Rob Thomas' last week to sneak onto the chart, since on April 21, he moved 36 to 34 without a bullet. Not sure what number the song is on April 28, but I would imagine, if it's still in the Top 40 on that chart, it would be near the bottom. Then again, there's not much chart action around that area on the 4/21 chart, so I have no idea.

There's hope that Kelly Clarkson might not beat or tie the 50-week record, as "Because Of You" takes a pretty big dive (for a should-be recurrent on AT40, anyway), falling from 24 to 31. Of course, that doesn't really mean much. "Scars" took a big dive a few months ago, but still managed to tie the record. Let's hope that the success of "Walk Away" continues to take spins away from "Because Of You". Kelly is 17 weeks away from tying the record anyway, so she'll probably fall off by then.

When I first saw the chart, I thought that maybe they went back to being only one week behind the R&R chart, based on the top four songs. But sometimes AT40 tends to do that, and then it's back to being very close to the chart from two weeks before.

When did the chart make sense in the first place (I mean sans Casey)

When I saw the 2 rock Breakout songs I thought Carson was subhosting this week, but then reaized if Carson was doing it, we'd see Arctic Monkeys, Panic at the Disco or Theory of a Deadman as the extras.

With Nick Vestudo producing the show, don't be surprised if it happens to fit-in another actress interview in the future.  We have already had the #1 song of the previous week sometimes played and sometimes not played.

Funny thing, after Nick left the Weekly Top 40 job, he started a production company called "Is Don on-the-phone?" And now, he has the AT40 job. What came first the AT40 job or the production company?

It's funny how both Dees chart and the AT40 overlooked Shakira for several weeks and now the song has made huge jumps on both charts.
