It looks like, 'Turn It Up,' is not Paris Hilton's debut single now...
Paris Hilton is ready to expand her media dominance to music videos with a clip for "Stars Are Blind," off her forthcoming debut album. The video is being directed by Chris Applebaum, who also directed Hilton's notorious commercial for Carl's Jr.

I love it. It really reminds me of Underneath it All, she even sounds like a deeper voiced Gwen. The video I know will be hot. I imagine this song could peak around #10 similar to "If It's Lovin' That You Want"

I'm thinking that "Turn It Up" and "Stars Are Blind" will both get videos, because I'm sure "Turn It Up" will still be a single eventually.
They should released "Turn It Up" first, then "Stars Are Blind."

Why not start with a mellower song? It worked for Kelly Clarkson.
And Leigy, this is the CHR/POP thread, it made top 10 if I'm not mistaken.

I know. #9. But the chr/pop peak position doesn't matter IN THE LONG RUN, the HOT 100 peak of #36 does.

Tracy Young announced this as the single in March but no one really believed her considering, 'Turn It Up,' was the most hyped song. 'Turn It Up,' was never actually confirmed by Paris or her camp as the first single they said ti was most likely going to be first. This is the first single.
Now I have to say I'm impressed. This is the perfect summer song. Mellow, laid back, you could play on the beach during the day or driving with the windows down at night. I don't think it will do much on the radio but I bet downloads will be big. This song reminds me of, 'The Tide Is High,' by Blondie and the vocals remind me of Gwen Stefani.

Paris Hilton says her upcoming album will be a mix of reggae, pop and hip-hop, with the first single being a reggae song called "Stars Are Blind." Paris the Next Marley? Hilton will also do a remake of the Rod Stewart song "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?," she was quoted as saying in the June issue of Hong Kong magazine Prestige. "The whole album has so much different music on it. I like all music. It's not like I only like pop or only rock. I want to have something for everybody," Hilton said. Hilton said she wrote the lyrics to seven of her songs. The article didn't say how many songs are on the album. She said she had to overcome shyness to become a singer. "I have always had a voice and always known I could sing, but I was too shy to let it come out. I think that is the hardest thing you can do, to sing in front of people. When I finally let go and did it, I realized it is what I am most talented at and what I love to do the most," Hilton said. Prestige reported the single, "Stars Are Blind," will be released this month by Warner Records and her own label Heiress Records, followed by a full album later this year.
