This is a great song, but I think we've discussed it here before (might have been at R&R). Best feature is the appearance of Stevie Wonder on harmonica, doing a throwback to his own hit from the mid 60s Fingertips, one of my all-time favorite live recordings.

I like the club mix especially. I used go bananas when this song would come on the radio and grind!

This is just one of those songs you hear today and think, "man, this must have sounded so hi-tech when it was produced but it sounds so dated now"...think along the lines of "Sussudio".
That said, it's a damn good track.

It was also Chaka Khan's biggest pop hit reaching #3 in 1984

They added the rap part after Chaka recorded it. She was horrified.

Love it!! They added the rap part after Chaka recorded it. She was horrified. The rap part actually enhanced the song. Of course, that was back in the day when rap wasn't half bad - compared to the gangsta-(c)rap, or foul-mouthed, senseless hip-hop garbage that you mostly hear today.

On Pop Up Video, they said that Chaka said she was embarrassed of the rap at the beginning.

One of Chaka's best. It's hot. And lol @ Chaka's reaction to the rap. Yeah, hip hop and R&B were separate in the early to mid 80s.

Such a jam...not my top Chaka song, but god I will never get tired of this. Pretty much my feelings too. She had better, but this is still awesome.

A quintessential slice of 80s pop. So much fun.
