And then I heard "No More, No Less" by Collective Soul at Einstein Bagels. What was really surprising was that I had just been listening to the exact same song in my car on a CD. Walked into the bagel store and it was playing on their muzak system. Very strange! That reminds me... there was this one time where I drove to the bookstore when I was in NE a few years ago and on my mix tape "Illuminate" by Orbital f/ David Gray was playing. Then that same song was playing inside the store when I walked in. Today I heard Black Lab - "Time Ago," Semisonic - "Secret Smile," and Charlie Mars - "Gather the Horses" at Whole Foods.

The Push Stars' "Any Little Town" in the grocery store Def Leppard's "Girl Like You" Also in a grocery store Del Amitri's "Kiss This Thing Goodbye" again, grocery store Hey, Ragin. Are you a fan of the Push Stars?? I was just checking out their album on Amazon. I heard they were good through MB20 fans. I was curious about the band and whether their album was any good.

Hey, Ragin. Are you a fan of the Push Stars?? I was just checking out their album on Amazon. I heard they were good through MB20 fans. I was curious about the band and whether their album was any good. I thought I already answered this but I don't see it on here. I like After the Party really well, but I haven't heard the two albums after that. I recommend giving some of the tracks a listen to see if you like them well enough to buy an album's worth of material. www.pushstars.com/discography/index.htmlthat might help.

On Tuesday, while I was at McDonald's, I heard Kimberley Locke's "Wrong" (this will soon be obscure ), followed by Jessica Simpson's "A Little Bit". And then today while I was at Burger King I heard Alanis Morissette's "Precious Illusions".

This morning I heard "Back And Forth" by Aaliyah at Home Depot. Personally, I would think this not-so-obscure...it was her debut single and did make Pop's Top 20 (#17, no idea about BB).

Still, not the kind of song you'd expect to hear on a Home Depot's instore music system.

I tend to consider a song as "obscure", not based on its chart performance, but rather based on how likely I am to hear the song nowadays.
Hence, if a song hit #1 but is never heard anymore, I will think of it as obscure, while if a #33 peaking song still gets occasional airplay, I won't.

This afternoon, as I was doing my weekly grocery shopping at Jewel-Osco in Michigan City, I heard "I Showed Her" by O-Town. That was quite a pleasant surprise, since we all know how much I love that song (in fact, I think I'm the only one on the boards who likes it)
