(Surprised there's no topic on this one.) Even though Janet is known for her uptempo dance tunes, I've always been a bigger fan of her slow jams. IMO "I Get Lonely" is the last good slow jam she's released. It was smooth and clean, with a killer beat. I actually hated the Remix with BLACKstreet; it wasn't as smooth as the album version. Unfortunately, that seemed to be the version that got most of the airplay. If you want to hear a great remix of this song, check out the Janet VS Jason Club Remix. It'll change your life... I kinda liked it. Not her best work, but certainly not her worst.

I LOVED IT. This song was Janet's first grammy nomination for a vocal award. I liked the remix soo much. It replaced That's The Way Love Goes as my favorite Janet Jackson single.

I like it more than 'Go Deep' and probably more than 'Every Time' and thanks to overplay, I'd rather listen to this than that. I'll say second best single from the album.

I really liked this one. It is really sexy. I liked this one alternate slow-breaks mix that came out for this one. It gave it a "bump and grind" type of feel to the song, moreso than it is already. I loved the Janet VS Jason Club Remix!

Now THIS is how Janet is supposed to do r&b music. Not the boring generic mess she is doing now, but this is a CLASSIC! The vocals are incredible, the lyrics are incredible, the production is incredible and the choreography in the video was INSANE!!!!! Now this is Janet at her best....."Come back to me" Janet, where are u? :'(

I LOVE this, it is my favorite slow song from Janet and one of my top five songs from her ever. The Velvet Rope was a great album and Janet did some good R&B work for it.

Some chart listing credited it as "Janet with Backstreet Boys".

Some chart listing credited it as "Janet with Backstreet Boys". Haha. Blackstreet/Backstreet Boys, same thing, 1-letter difference ;)

It's definitely a crowd pleaser, and always gets one of the biggest reactions when she performs it.

I echo the sentiment that this is one of her best songs.

I love it (the album version moreso than the remix). I wasn't crazy about the remix with Blackstreet, but I did like the house mixes.

It's not one of my favourites from her, but I like it. There's something really catchy about it. I do like the remix too.

I loved the Velvet Rope era as a whole, but this was THE SONG from that album. It was number one on my chart for 13 weeks back in '98. Everything about this was amazing, from the vocals to the video. I wish she had kept making music of this quality :(.

I actually like the remix with BLACKstreet it has an uptempo feel to it than the original version the radio preferred the remix over the album version. They should've had listed as a bonus track on "Velvet Rope". On the billboard charts they actually listed it BLACKstreet as the featured artist back in 1998. KKBT Los Angeles had the remix on its playlist back. I have proof. _____________________________________________

The OP has its chart positions wrong. This was a #1 for Janet on the R&B chart.

I really adore this takes me back to the type of r&b music that I grew up with as a kid #nostalgia, when r&b was organic and sexual without it being crass. The blackstreet remix was nice.
