Regina didn't get a hit at CHR/Pop until "A Whole New World" but she was successful at urban radio. This was her debut single, from 1987's "All By Myself". It's a great midtempo with a Freddie Jackson/Glenn Jones type of vibe.

"Show Me The Way" spent a single week at #35 on my chart on February 6, 1988. I was not familiar with the track until a few years later. This is a song that should have charted much, much higher.
Regina Belle has a new album coming out this summer, but I can not find any details about it.

Yeah, July 6. "Oooh Boy" from her last album was great. I was a little bit late on it however, and it only made it to #24 in early 2002.

I forget how this song goes, but as I recall, it was rather mediochre. I prefer her song with Peabo Bryson from a little later on that year, "Without You".

This is a huge classic record. I thought for many years that it was number one on the R&B airplay charts. One of the most popular album cuts is from the same LP as this song called "After The Love Lost It's Shine". I hear it is still a classic in the ATL especially. I heard this traveling through there on the interstate on evening many years ago.

My second favorite Regina song behind BCTM. That woman's belts KILL. The extended version is everything.

Very nice song. I was only familiar with MILIW and A Whole New World before I discovered this song on TV One's Unsung. They did a feature on her story.

Were you familiar with Baby Come To Me, All I Want Is Forever before the unsung? Yes, I grew up listening to "Baby Come To Me". My dad used to play it around the house when I was young. Not familiar with "All I Want Is Forever".

I heard this traveling through there on the interstate on evening many years ago. It was #4 on the airplay YE despite peaking at #2 on the chart. To show how huge the song was on arrival, when it came out it was being added to a lot of urban radio stations and playlists very quickly and already being put in heavy rotation. Because of how well the song was doing and it just came out, the industry predictors at the time predicted it would be a hit.

Amazing song and great classic and great precursor to her smash album Stay With Me
