This is one of those songs where I'm like, how the hell did this not go to #1? This felt massive at the time. The song is so good, just excellent production. And those adlibs at the end... iconic.
The video was such an event and it still holds up.

I remember sitting on the carpet in front of the TV, watching the premiere with my family. I think it was on FOX?
Back when Michael Jackson music videos were EVENTS.

“Do you remember girl?!” “On the phone, you and me, ‘til dawn, ‘til 3, what about us, girl?!”
Sooooooo good!
Here's a video edit with just the song and the extended breakdown:

This is a superb song and it’s influence was very apparent on a massive hit from this year.

Happy 27th Anniversary to one of the greatest music videos of all time. Remember The Time premiered 27 years ago today.
One of the earliest memories I have as a child is watching the premiere, I believe on FOX, with my parents and siblings.

The video was such an event and it still holds up. I didn't realize it peaked at #3. I knew it didn't hit #1, but I sort of assumed it was a #2 peak behind some massive song. It wasn't a #1 in the UK, Germany, France, or Australia either.

The video is a classic. The song is one of my MJ favorites too.

I think it’s safe to say that this is now one of his ultimate classics. His dancing in the video is so on point that he makes the professional dancers look like amateurs. =p

I think this is the only song from 90s that I like by MJ. I agree with Black Summer what he said "Off the wall" and "thriller" were good...after those albums it was not as good..Have to agree as well. "Off The Wall" and "Thriller" were his best albums.
"Remember The Time" is easily my fave single from "Dangerous", followed by "In The Closet".

The best song from the 1991 Dangerous album. I also remember the Egyptian-themed music video. It may had been one of the very first music videos I ever seen (along with his "Black or White" music video) as my family didn't have cable until 1995. This song got heavy airplay on B96, WGCI, and maybe V103 in my market.

Considering how much people have hyped the video, I’m surprised it didn’t propel the song to #1 like BOW did.
Excellent song, IMO it’s his best song not to reach #1.
