This was a low point for the Stones.

^ Actually, quite the opposite. Mick Jagger was always the one in The Stones who had a keen eye on current trends, and this song showed how he was paying attention to both the "mutant disco" sound coming out of New York's underground scene at the time and its British counterparts in Gang Of Four, PiL or The Mekons. Nevertheless, it managed to sound all their own. And if you put this song alongside many of the punk-funk bands of the last few years (The Rapture, Radio 4, !!!), it wouldn't sound that out of place. If you want to look for low points, look no further than 1986's Dirty Works. Now that was the sound of a band whose animosity between them clearly showed on the mess that music was.

They've had more than a few singles worse than this... if I had to cram my favorite songs of theirs on one CD, this might even make the cut.

Underrated Rolling Stones track from the 80s. Not my all-time favorite from them but I liked it.
