Without peeking at the chart, I remember one of the songs was "I'm That Type Of Guy" by LL Cool J. I can't remember what the other was off the top of my head though...

O.K. Here is a challenging question especially for most of of you chart freaks. Name that group! First off, the producer for this group had a string of R&B singles and a hand full of pop hits that he had written and produced for others. Now he was a sole member of two R&B groups and only one of them actually made the top 40. However the group came close with one of the decade's (90s) greatest slow jams. One other thing is one of the members besides the producer just barely made the R&R top 40 with his solo slow jam and placed number one on the Urban charts. Name that group! As a bonus name that single that came close to cracking the top 40 on both the R&R and Billboard charts.

The group's name is Guy (Teddy Riley being the big name producer who later was a member of Blackstreet & Aaron hall having the big urban hit)
And is the song you're referring to "Let's Chill"?

You got it! Now as a bonus only name that tune that almost made the top 40? This should be quite easy, actually...

It's not "I Miss You", is it? (I believe that might have charted for a week or two).

New question...and another easy one:
This song holds the record for the longest note sung on a #1 hit. What song is it?

"When I'm With You" by Sheriff. It beat the previous record originally set by Air Supply, who held the last note in the song "All Out Of Love" (Shadoe Stevens pointed out that it broke the record for the longest held note on a Top Ten song, since on BB, "All Out Of Love" stopped at number two, held out of the top spot by "Upside Down" by Diana Ross. On R&R, though, the song went all the way to #1.

Speaking of which, Bill Withers at one time held the overall Top 40 record with a note in "Lovely Day"... not sure if any of the more recent songs bested that.

The remembering the 80s thing is whipping my rear, however that's a great challenge for me. I hope that I get at least one or two answers correct! Anyhow I have one rather easy quiz for ya. In 1986 this vocalist from the West of the US shared the same song title with one vocal in both the CHR top 40 & AT40 (Hot 100). I'm asking this question BTW because it is another obscure song that I have heard at a my job.... One of them hit the top 10 and one of them did not. This singer comes and goes when it comes to being in a band, the same band that really had the artist's music career going.

That would be "I Can't Wait" by Nu Shooz (which peaked at #4) and Stevie Nicks (peaked at #12).

Here's one and I going off of sketchy memory, so forgive if I somehow screw this up.
Gloria Mann in the 1950s and Will To Power in the 1980s accomplished something no two acts before (and perhaps since) had ever accomplished. What was it?

I seem to recall that the guy in Will To Power is Gloria Mann's son... so maybe it was the first time that a mother hit the Top 40, and her son later hit #1?

Next trivia...
Name the only artist from Pascagoula, Mississippi, to have a top 40 hit in the 1980s.

Can you give us a hint, please because it is not Jimmy Buffet. I cannot find the answer anywhere....

It's not Jimmy Buffett because I don't recall him having a top 40 hit in the 80s. One hint I can give: it was once used in a Wheel Of Fortune TV promo.
