This song from the spring/early summer of 1991 had a really catchy chorus. It was also one of the few female rappers at the time.

I like it (also, the original it was based on by The Spinners). I think Shadoe Stevens mentioned she was the first solo female rapper ever to hit the top 40.

I like the single remix version better (the video version). I have the single somewhere in this house.

This sounded a lot like Salt n' Pepa. I kind of liked this song when it came out, but not so much anymore.

You could put an asterik next to Madonna for "Vogue" and Neneh Cherry for "Buffalo Stance." Big asterisk, of course, since they were primarily singers who happened to have songs with rap parts in them. :)

I LOVE this song. Real shame Monie never really lived up to her early promise...

I didn't realize this was a remake til much later. Same with "You Showed Me" by Salt N Pepa, when I heard the original on the radio.

I had a friend that used to mimic this song singing "It's a shame, the way you masturbate in the park."

I've randomly had the chorus of this one stuck in my head for like 2 days! I like it (also, the original it was based on by The Spinners). I think Shadoe Stevens mentioned she was the first solo female rapper ever to hit the top 40. You could put an asterik next to Madonna for "Vogue" and Neneh Cherry for "Buffalo Stance." Wait, people consider the spoken part on "Vogue" to be a rap?!
