"A Young Girl" was a minor U.S. hit for British actor-singer Noel Harrison in 1965. His only other charter would be his version of the oft-remade Leonard Cohen classic " Suzanne," although in his native UK he'd score a big hit with " The Windmills of Your Mind" from The Thomas Crown Affair. Anyhow, while this song has a bit of a cult following, thanks in part to becoming a regional hit in some areas, it seems largely ignored now. It's an English adaptation of a French song written by Charles Aznavour (of "She" fame). Given the chance, I think this song could find a good deal of respect. Good lyrical job and good reading by Harrison. The self-titled album which contained this hit will be issued on CD on 22 April.
