Do you remember the 1981 song by the Tarney/Spencer Band called "No Time to Lose"? It never made the top 40 charts (did it make Billboard's Hot 100 chart?). But it made the WLS Chicago survey in the Top 30 reaches!

Oh yeah, I remember this song. I didn't really hear it outside of airplay on WLS (although I imagine that The Loop (Chicago's AOR station at 97.9) played it too). It was a pretty good song. WLS played several AOR type songs in the early 1980s that failed to reach the Top 40 on the national charts ("No One Like You" by the Scorpions comes to mind). Plus, several songs by Rush made their charts too even though only "New World Man" hit the Top 40 nationally.

Australian duo. This single was released twice. Once in 79 and again in 81 due to heavy MTV exposure. Made the lower reaches of the Top 100 both times, the second time it went to #74. Great song, it sticks with you, IMO.
Alan Tarney later produced the first three albums for Norwegian group a-ha.
