One of those songs that you don't really like but can't get out of your head once you've heard it again

Didn't this already have a thread somewhere?

I think there is a thread somewhere, but regardless, I love this song! I know Hervard hates it, but IMO, it's one of the best songs of the 90s.

I really liked this when it was out... although I'm not too sure it deserved 12 weeks at #1. Still enjoy hearing this today!

Another one of my all-time favorites. Billboard peaks: Rhythmic: #2 Interesting! I know "Wannabe" and "Mmmbop" peaked high on Rhythmic, but I still find this surprising!

I used to LOVE this song when I was a kid. I still like it now but not as much as I did back then.

This was Rick Dees' #1 song of 1996.
Every time I heard Ellie Goulding I think of Donna Lewis. They sound similar to me.

On paper I should loathe this song, but ngl it's really endearing and sincere.

Loved this then and I still do. There is a certain warmth that you feel when listening to this song. The dreamy atmosphere of it is so gorgeous.
The Philly remix was on some editions of the single. It gave the song a R&B/light Disco feel. The Tevendale mix was released on the DMC remix service. That was a full blown big room, underground sounding mix.

It's cute, but I always found it overrated by some.

I didn't like this song at first but it had grown on me. This was often played on the AC stations (100.3, 93.9 Lite FM, and 101.9 The Mix) and on B96 in my market.

As a kid in 1996, I always hoped this song would come on the radio when my mother and I were out shopping or in the car.
It's so catchy, sweet, and optimistic without being too saccharine and I always wanted to hear it again.
Her first album is a snooze-fest though, but her second album Blue Planet is AMAZING

Her album "Now in a Minute" has been re-released digitally with bonus content including several remixes of this song. Also 4 bonus tracks, radio mixes of "Without Love" & "Mother" and remixes of Fool's Paradise.
I saw the album on vinyl the other day, and was so tempted to get it, but didn't want to shelve out $27.99 for it. Maybe another day.

I always loved the way she sang „soft spoken words“.

I remember this song so well. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! The melody is so chilled and laidback. Everytime I listen to it, it takes me back to the simple days of my childhood. I miss the 90s so much! This one definitely makes feel very nostalgic, for sure!

It's a 10/10. One of the best singles of the 90's.

honestly gives me the same feeling that Emotion era Carly does. wish she got at least one week in but the Macarena was too strong. its a gentle song but I feel like I have to scream the bridge, even though it makes no sense lol

This song got airplay on 102.7 KIIS FM during the late 90’s when I was a kid. I’m 29 years old and I love 90’s music.

I've adored this song since I was 6 years old, but I think Blue Planet is the stronger album.
