The original version was really beautiful. Very haunting.
I preferred Above & Beyond and Petyasb's really dramatic remixes of this song.

This definitely is a very haunting song and probably Britney's best single to date.

One of the only 2 or 3 Britney songs I can stand.

It was good. And then the video came out. Melodramatic bullshit.

This still gets me. I'm amazed every time (haha) I hear it. Probably in my top 5 Britney songs. :'( The video was one of her best too.
Above & Beyond's remix was also worth mentioning.

Her vocals are amazing in this one, they're very faint and weak in the beginning and get stronger as the song goes along. The melody is very haunting and angelic at the same time.
It was a response to Justin Timberlake's Cry Me A River, and she did a really good job.
It peaked at #15 in the US, but worldwide was a huge hit, #1 in Australia, UK, Ireland and all of Europe.

Oh wow I didn't reply to this :o
I LOVE this song. So haunting. Stupid me though had to go through my Britney-hating phase doing this time though and because of that it only peaked at #13 on my chart. MEH.

This and "Toxic" are her twin peaks.
She may not be a terribly good vocalist, technically, but her vocal here is so expressive and anguished. One of the most sincere performances from a pop female of the last ten years. In fact I can't believe it is almost ten years old, seems like not that long ago my sister played it for me for the first time.

I also love that she more or less wrote and composed it by herself. It's nice to know she has it in her but I just wish she'd continue to explore her artistic side. Maybe on album #8, eh?

I love how much emotion there is, she really sounds like she is yearning for her lover to come back to her. And every lyric is so meaningful and deep, the part "What have I done? You seem to move on easy" just kills me. And the fact that she wrote this makes the song so much more meaningful compared to if it was just handed down to her.

One of the most sincere performances from a pop female of the last ten years. Absolutely...and she legitimately wrote it. She's always been better on paper than in interviews. Even her rants during 2007 on her website were clever and well written. I'd really like to see her actually take a part in songwriting again.

It's alright. It was a boring single choice.

Used to love this song back in high school, but I don't really care much for it anymore. It is a pretty decent song, tho. It's kinda like a musical box lullaby.
It's amazing how the video foreshadowed her '07 downfall.
