This was my favorite song when I was 8. And until I downloaded it the other night, I probably hadn't heard it since then.
Anyone else remember this?

I think I've heard it a couple of times recently, though I don't remember what it sounds like.
I'm surprised I've heard this on the Music Choice New Wave channel. They sound more like a typical 80's pop/rock band than a new wave band.
My favorite song from them is probably "Electric Blue" since I've probably heard it the most.

Yes, I loved this song. I was delighted to hear it on AT40 Flashback in late December, 1987 (and I believe again in January, 1988 - they ran the shows close together around the year change, due to technicalities), since this is one song that the 80s stations I listen to never touch (but they have no problem at all playing "Electric Blue") Not that "Electric Blue" is a bad song, but "Crazy" was so much better IMO. I especially like the harmonies they use at the beginning of the last chorus, "We-ellll, you gotta be crazy baby..." The two songs mentioned were Icehouse's only Top 40 hits. They weren't as big as their fellow Australians, like INXS and Rick Springfield. 1988 seemed to be the height of the Australian invasion. I can't think of any other acts from the land down under, but I do recall that Australian acts abounded in early-mid 1988.

Good song, I was older than 8, when this came out, however. I remember playing this video at the Burger Bar in RAF Lakenheath, England when it was available on the video jukebox.

Can't forget The Church. 'Under The Milky Way' was even featured in Donnie Darko, which of course was set in 1988. Midnight Oil was another one of those crazy Aussie bands. I saw the 'Electric Blue' video once, on MTV2's A-Z marathon a few years ago, but I've never seen the video for 'Crazy'. Likely never will either.

I wish the '80s station here would play Icehouse... "Crazy" and "Electric Blue" are two of my favorite songs from 1988 (strangely, I didn't really care much for either one of them at the time... I guess it's true that absence makes the heart grow fonder?). :)
Regarding that Australian mini-invasion, on the 6/4/88 edition of AT40, there were four songs in a row by groups from down under (which was mentioned by Casey):
28) Electric Blue - Icehouse 29) Beds Are Burning - Midnight Oil 30) New Sensation - INXS 31) Under The Milky Way - The Church
And the previous week, three of those songs were back-to-back-to-back from #36 to #38.
And then of course there was the first chart appearance of Kylie Minogue a few weeks later, just a few months after Rick Springfield said goodbye to the top 40 for the final time...

And then of course there was the first chart appearance of Kylie Minogue a few weeks later, just a few months after Rick Springfield said goodbye to the top 40 for the final time... Yeah, I remember wishing that song "Rock Of Life" had gotten higher than it did. Since it was Rick's comeback single, I figured it would shoot right to the top, but it hit a brick wall and fell fast. Rick's heyday was clearly 1981-1983. He did have one big top five hit in early 1984 ("Love Somebody" ), but his other two hits (both from the film "Hard To Hold", I assume, like "Love Somebody" ) from that year only reached the Top 20. In 1985, his LP Tao spawned two disappointing hits, then, after "Rock Of Life" Rick disappeared for good. Anyway, back to the AT40 show Aaron was talking about. I remember that show being featured on AT40 Flashback (it's clear that I liked that show, huh? ), and those acts being all in a row. That was also the year of a lot of hard rock music. I remember faithful AT40 Flashback listener Jeff Steele saying that his station forewent that episode of the show, since the station it was on was Lite Rock and they didn't like a lot of the hard rock acts on it (Lita Ford, Def Leppard, White Lion, etc.) and then the station resumed with the show next week. Of course that was a repeat show from the year before, since they decided to nix the 6/6/81 show originally scheduled for that week. But that's another story.

I like "Crazy" and "Electric Blue" but I'm surprised no one mentioned "No Promises," which I thought was their best track, or a couple of their earlier ones, "Hey Little Girl" and "Can't Help Myself"

I loved both songs Icehouse did. Crazy was indeed a great song and the video of it was quite awesome.

Pretty good, but "Electric Blue" is still easily my favorite of theirs.

I used to like this alot. I even played the video on the video jukebox in England. I regearded thisi as a pop/rock dance track as well. "Electric Blue" is the cut, though.

I love "Crazy"! Too bad Icehouse pretty much fell off after "Electric Blue".
