I like some of it. My favorite classic rock song is "Magic Man" by Heart. I also like a lot of Steely Dan music.

While not my favorite format, I always include a couple classic rock or mainstream rock stations as pre-sets on my radio. Def Leppard, Journey, Aerosmith, Styx, Skynyrd, Van Halen. You can't go wrong with that line-up.
Add hair metal, grunge, and even the ocassional spin of "Kryptonite" and this format has something for just about everyone.

Yes I do actually! Thanks for bringing up the topic, although this forum here is single song driven, I do have a list of some my favourite classic rock tracks. Some of these songs made my custom made CD that I listen to occassionally.
Boston - More Than A Feeling Free - All Right Now (LP Version) Led Zepplin - Stairway To Heaven AC DC - Shook Me All Night Long Guns N Roses - Paradise City Steffenwolf - Born To Be Wild Jimi Hendryx - Voo Doo Chile Heart - Baracuda Kiss - Rock N Roll All Night Kiss - Crazy Crazy Crazy Nights
To name a few, I can't think of anymore at this point. Perhaps I may listen to KQRS 92.5 (Classic Rock) here in the Twin Cities tonight instead of 93X (Active Rock).

I love classic rock. I think I started a "Baba O'Riley" thread here a few months back and the actual amount of replies and reads it had was like, OFFENSIVELY low for such an undisputed classic, haha.
It's also an age factor with the board. A lot of members are quite young and don't listen to it; I fortunately was raised on it from my dad (in his early 50s, so basically all the classics are his era) so I appreciate it a lot thanks to him.
And seriously, what a generation to have lived in. I would have loved to experience the 60s and early 70s.

Yeah me too..I wish I had lived in the 60s and 70s. This generation is so boring and the music sucks..

I remember that song, by the Who. Many people I know refer to the song as "Teenage Wasteland". Ah. Then you know many people who refer to it incorrectly. Sorry, that was an unwarranted smartass quip. I actually have a personal pet peeve about people referring to it as "Teenage Wasteland" and therefore take it more seriously than I ought.

It's the stuff I grew up on, but there's lots of it I'm absolutely sick of, like most Aerosmith (I still like some of the stuff from they days when they were still getting stoned), Van Halen, Skynyrd and AC/DC. I never did much like Journey, Styx, Foreigner, Kansas or Genesis.
But I still enjoy most of the Hendrix and Lez Zeppelin catalogs as well as lots of the not-so-overplayed classics by CSNY, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Janice Joplin, T. Rex, Bad Company, etc.

I love listening to Led Zeppelin. My appreciation for their music rose last year when the classic rock station here was transitioning from mainstream rock to classic rock and they played Zeppelin that entire weekend. Pretty jammin' music they had.

That's sort of like me and the song "Somewhere" from West Side Story. It irks me when people call that song "There's A Place". THAT AIN'T THE NAME OF THE FREAKIN' SONG!! It's called "Somewhere".

I love listening to Led Zeppelin. My appreciation for their music rose last year when the classic rock station here was transitioning from mainstream rock to classic rock and they played Zeppelin that entire weekend. Pretty jammin' music they had. Which one? Z-106? It seemed to me they just slowly started phasing out the current music to the point that there was no more than one or two current hits an hour, then they dropped currents entirely. But that was way more than a year ago. Has Rock 93.9 also gone classic rock? That station doesn't come in well over here so I seldom hear it, but it hasn't been too long since I tuned in and I heard several current hits. Maybe one or the other of these has been switching back and forth, I dunno. Classic Rock would be a much better format if they'd expand the playlist to include more 90s alt-rock and more traditional album rock tracks from all years. Even with artists like Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix, they tend to play the same dozen or so hits over and over and completely ignore some of the best music. They program to an audience that never changes the station anyway, so why can't they offer just a bit more variety?

I LOVE classic rock. Mostly 80's stuff, though I do like some 70's rock as well, especially Heart and Rush's early material.

Nikki Sixx just started a 2-hour Classic Rock show last year that's really good. a lot of times, they'll have a theme or spotlight (similar to AT10), like the biggest summer hits or best known guitarists.
