What a disappointment when I first heard it... this song sounded just like "Baby One More Time". Still catchy, though, for the same reason as the other song.

I've been trying to remember my reaction the first time I heard this song...I remember getting into Britney back in spring 2000 and when a friend at school said "Oops I did it again" was her new song, I didn't believe it. I've heard this song so many times over the years, I feel very numb to it...I think I can say that this song is my most listened to song of ALL TIME. I remember watching a recorded concert performance and her video ALL THE TIME trying to the the moves down for this song (and I did and I still know it....lol). I can't imagine a song like this becoming popular these days....it sounds so foriegn to todays music, yet it was a radio #1 back then. This song is probubly on radio's recurrent blacklist. I have not heard it on the radio since it was popular back in 2000.
well, that's all I can say about this song.....

One of the best songs ever. It's been my favorite Britney track ever since I heard it for the first time. The video is perfection, too.

This entire move was genius, IMO. Of course it sounds similar to Baby One More Time. It is called "Oops! I Did It Again". I loved the tongue and cheek title. It's my favorite Britney tune.
Also, the melody is different. Just because you can sing one song to another instrumental doesn't mean they have the same melody. You are making it fit into it by singing it to fit inside Oops. It isn't as easy if you try to sing Oops to Baby's instrumental.

This song was probably my favourite as a kid ![](http://i.imgur.com/2smy76v.gif) . The video was entertaining, the "I'm not that innocent" line always was awesome. I can't say enough good things about this single ![](http://i.imgur.com/2smy76v.gif) .

I mean it's complete trash, but it's fun. I much prefer "Crazy" and "Stronger" to this and "Baby One More Time".

This is such a childhood favorite of mine. One of Britney's best and a classic pop song.

I love this one and prefer it to "BOMT," even if they are similar. Having said that, I hate the talking part. Is there a version without it?

Couldn't stand this and any of the other Britney songs back then. Occasionally heard this on B96 in the radio growing up but better remember it for the music video on MTV (where she wore that red pvc/plastic jumpsuit). Don't hate it much nowadays but prefer "Hit Me Baby One more Time" if I had to pick a Britney track.

I know a lot of people say that this sounds exactly like ...Baby One More Time but I've never heard it? I wonder if this is the case of 'look and feel' being similar to a previous hit, rather than looking at the sound and production elements? When I look at these two tracks, I do think the bare bones are quite different. Personally, I see more alignment with You Drive Me Crazy and Stronger to Oops!... than BOMT? Does anyone else see this?
...Baby One More Time sounds more rhythmic, and R & B influenced (no doubt due to Max trying to sell this to TLC originally), while I found Oops!... to be more reminiscent of arena rock songs not unlike some of Micheal's 90's stuff. Maybe I'm just crazy but I don't think these songs sound that similar other than they had strong hooks and were vamped up with a teen focused poppy sound, and Britney sang them.
I've always loved her vocals on this, and to me it felt like she was hitting her strides with her runs and agility here. It seemed like she grew to be much more confident in her voice during this time period, and I always like hearing her voice when this comes on.

They're only like 1 tone difference in keys, and don't they have the same BPM? They're also very similar in structure and even length. Look at how the intros are very similar and then how the lead vocal starts at literally the same time/spot in both songs. You can also look at how the beat kicks back in after the 2nd bar in the bridge in both songs.

I really liked this song. I think I purchased the whole cd at the time where I didnβt get βBaby One More Timeβ. When she first came out I thought she was a little corny, but ended up getting into her sound I suppose. Though I barely remember any of the tracks from it and did not care for βLuckyβ at all at the time. I think I strangely like more tracks from it now than I did then. Back then I was more into Rhythmic sounding music. I was 23 at the time. I became a much bigger fan when βIβm A Slave For Youβ came out.
