I am listening to this song right now. This is a dynamite song from TTD. Honestly, this song and "Sign Your Name" are the only singles I like by him. He's got a really unique, raspy voice that sounds great on these sorts of mid-tempo tunes. Too bad he spiraled into utter weirdness after this excellent album Introducing the Hardline According to Terence Trent D'Arby album came out in 1987. I don't think this tune is really all that well remembered, but it should be. If I remember correctly, it hit #1 on the Billboard R&B Chart and on the Hot 100 in 1988. It also made #4 in the UK.

I remember it and liked it. It was a good dancefloor song.

Good song. It finished at #12 on Billboard's 1988 yearend chart. Too bad Terence let his overinflated ego get the best of him, 'cause he was talented.

I'm with Pimp Named Slickback, as I too think that this song and "Sign Your Name" were his only really good songs. This song did not quite make it to #1 on the R&R chart, but did peak at #3 and spent sixteen weeks on the chart, which was quite unusual back in the late 1980s.
I hear this on the radio every now and then.

Well at least it managed #1 on the Hot 100.

I had this on cassette. I heard it on Jack FM just the other day. The last thing Terence did of any substance was "Delicate", a duet he did with a relative unknown, Des'ree, in 1993.

A relative unknown who herself had a big hit in 1995 with 'You Gotta Be'.
Anyhow, this song is funny. LOL! I dunno. Must be the bells or something.

I prefer "Sign Your Name" & "Dance Little Sister" which are much more soulful than this cut. And yes I remember it well, they still play this thang to death on a number of 80s channels or whatever. I'm tired of it already!

Well at least it managed #1 on the Hot 100. Really?! :O I knew it was a big hit and all, but I didn't know it got to #1! Anyway, I like this, but I prefer Sign Your Name.

He had consistently good single I think. Hmmm, maybe not from his second album, but still. This is in my top three from Terence, with "Dance Little Sister" and "Do You Love Me Like You Say?".

I liked this, but I also preferred "Sign Your Name".
He changed his name to Sananda Maitreya a few years ago.

Good song. Too bad he had to make that comment about his album being better than The Beatles, he could've had a couple more hits.

Yeah this is really good. His debut album was really solid in general. I'd say "waste of a career," but tbh I haven't listened to any of his other music so far all I know it's terrific.
