Classic Michael. Don't think anyone could avoid hearing this song or seeing this video at some point in time.

I agree; it was way overplayed, but I never got tired of it - because I never liked it in the first place. I did like the slower songs from the Faith album (such as "Father Figure" and "One More Try".)

Don't like this one. Maybe the worst of the singles form his "Faith" album.

I like it, but Limp Bizkit ruined the song for me.

While it did get a lot of play, I don't think it's the most overplayed of the 80s. Anyhow, I think it's average.

Among my least favorites on the album (it's just that good), but I like it. The video is a classic.

33 years ago today, "Faith" by George Michael started a 4 week run at No.1 on the Hot 100. Billboard wound up naming "Faith" the No.1 hit of 1988 in the U.S. - In the U.K., it peaked at No.2 behind the Bee Gees who were having a massive comeback with the gorgeous record, "You Win Again." "Faith," its parent album has sold over 25 million copies and won the Grammy award for Album of the Year. A Pop/Rock masterpiece with tinges of R & B and Jazz. It was massive and I still love it.

I wasnt alive in '88 but I know they overplayed that song. This album had so many #1's. Legendary album may ge rest in peace.

This was okay but I prefer other George Michael/Wham songs such as "Careless Whispers". When it came to his 1987/88 songs, this may had been his best one as the only song from that era that I really hate is "I Want Your Sex".

I know it's iconic and I enjoy it, but it's not one of my favorite George Michael songs.

His career was not that successful in US, basically one big album with Wham and then Faith solo album and that's it, from there it was sleigh ride and I wonder if the missed success in US was about his personality. Faith album itself is just alright for me, product of it's time, but not that classic.

Wasn't he fighting with his record label for some reason? I think politics had a lot to do with it. He should have been as big in the 90s as he was in the mid to late 80s.

Wasn't he fighting with his record label for some reason? I think politics had a lot to do with it. He should have been as big in the 90s as he was in the mid to late 80s. There was some of that, but also the Faith album is more commercial than the material he released after it. I'm not saying his 90s material wasn't good (I like a lot of it), but it was never going to be as big as his Wham stuff and Faith. "Praying for Time," "Jesus to a Child," etc just aren't as sleek and catchy as the Faith singles or "Careless Whisper" and such. "Freedom 90" is his only 90s singles that matches the quality and catchiness of his 80s singles.

Now I remember. I think the label pressured him to do more "commercial" albums and he didn't want to go that route. If he just bent a little bit more maybe he would have had more success.
