Can't get enough of Beyonce's Irreplaceable! It's such a beautiful song!
It is NOT her song. Ne-Yo wrote every word.Well Bee MADE the song...he said he gave her a rock and she gave him back the Statue of David.

Ne-Yo wrote every word.are your eyes just being opened to this?? do you think whitney houston wrote "i will always love you?" or that celine dion wrote "my heart will go on?" many artists have huge hits that they dont write. faith hill doesn't write her own music, and HER songs are quite beautiful.

I just dont think those singers who dont make their own material doesnt deserve that kind of success. Ne-Yo must have been doing that because he must have been pissed upon hearing Beyonce sounding like she was the one who made that record. Throw this song to any singer and it would still be successful because the song itself is good, maybe not as popular as when Beyonce sang it but it would still be a popular song.
I agree with DJ General

I don't think she even realizes how talented she really is. I wrote the Lyrics and she composed the melody and she knocked the song out in less than 30 minutes"... Ne-yo said it himself she did irreplaceable in 30 minutes lol

Yea she sung it in 30 minutes which doesnt amount to a damn thing. Ne-Yo deserves alot of credit because he is the one that wrote a track so catchy just like LMLY and UF. Hell alot of people couldve sang this song and it wouldve been a hit but without the lyrics that we written this song is nothing.

I don't think it's a big deal if Beyonce didn't write the song, but she's notorious for getting co-writing credit on every single one of her/Destiny's Child's songs so she can get the royalties. maybe she has some input, but i'm not sure how much. she was just disqualified from winning the song award from the Oscars because they only give the award to 3 writers and she admitted to contributing less to "Listen" than the other ones did. She probably didn't do that much to "Irreplacable" if it had been given to Fantasia first.
Beyonce likes to promote the image that not only is she a great singer with a great image, she's also a songwriter and producer extraordinaire, when those claims are exaggerated. I would understand if Ne-Yo is pissed, granted he probably allowed Beyonce to get a writing credit so the song could be placed on her album and sell copies...though this album probably wouldn't be selling as much without the song he wrote with Stargate (this one). he probably sold the rights and let her get her name on the credits, but he might not have realized that Beyonce would try to take credit for doing ALL of the song herself.
That fib about being inspired to write it by her character in Dreamgirls is hilarious. If she said that the emotions led to her interpretation that she sang in the studio, that would be more accurate, but even on the radio they talk about how Ne-Yo wrote the song. who is she kidding?

That fib about being inspired to write it by her character in Dreamgirls is hilarious. Nowhere in that para did she say that she wrote it. Anyway Ne-Yo only wrote the lyrics right? I thought it was the music that made this song much better. Also, if some other person had sang it, it wouldn't have been such a big hit. Conclusion: You need all the right ingredients (music, lyrics, singer) to make a big hit, and "Irreplaceable" did well 'cause it had all 3.

DJ, do you have the link to Ne-Yo's performance of Irreplaceable and the interview about it?
Splitchick is right, not everyone writes their own material, but the image Beyonce is giving off seems a bit deceptive, when she isnt that heavily involved.
And I'd want to know what parts of the melody Beyonce wrote too. Some of it is really good, but the verses are a little subpar.

Neyo is listed on the album for the song, so what part is she lying about! I think the problem is that the song is so massive and his name is never mention in conjunction with the song. The media never mentions his name at all. I have heard Bee mention his name in several interviews though.

I do think Beyonce does lead viewers to believe that she is the writer/producer/etc on B'Day, though I've never heard her specifically say she wrote Irreplaceable. Having said that, why should the song Irreplaceable not do well just because the singer didnt write it? It's a phenomenal pop song.

The reason it's being mentioned, is because, Beyonce is known for "saying" she wrote a song, and I think her name is listed on the writing credit for "Irreplaceabe" when she did not write the song.

She did however come up with the "part" of the song that everyone will remember ten years from now. "To the left, to the left" has become a cultural phenomenon. I cant go a day without hearing someone say it now.

Beyonce said POINT BLANK "Neyo wrote Irreplaceable" a bunch of times. So......how does Bee make it seem like she wrote it. If u look in the credits..his name clearly comes 1st.

From Billboard's Chart Beat:
LIKE THE TITLE SAYS: "Irreplaceable," indeed. Beyonce's latest hit has stretched its reign over the Hot 100 to six weeks, making it the second-longest running No. 1 of the songs that achieved pole position in 2006.
The Columbia single is tied for second place with "Promiscuous" by Nelly Furtado featuring Timbaland. If "Irreplaceable" isn't displaced next week, it will match Justin Timberlake's "SexyBack" as the longest running No. 1 of last year. Two more weeks on top will make "Irreplaceable" the No. 1 longevity champ of 2006 all by itself.
It wouldn't be the first time Beyonce would have the longest-running No. 1 of a calendar year. In 2003, her "Baby Boy" checked into the penthouse for nine weeks, putting it in a three-way tie with 50 Cent's "In Da Club" and OutKast's "Hey Ya" for that year's longest-running No. 1.
