A #1 hit on the Pop charts and the Hot 100 (I think), and their last major success.
I like it actually. Repetitive, but Darren hayes has a really strong falsetto. I like the sentiment too. File under "Guilty Pleasure".
I like Affirmation a lot too, and I think thats another that a lot of people hate.

Very ashamed to say it, but Savage Graden was pretty damned good. This song and "Crash & Burn" were some of my favorites... The production on their songs was so clean... Didn't Walter Afanasieff produce all their good stuff?

I cannot believe that this was once my favorite song, before one of my co-workers played it over and over again just to irritate everyone! Luckily, they seldom play this song, even on AC stations.

I thought this song was exceptionally corny (even for them) but still found myself listening to it constantly when it came out.

"I Want You" and "Crash And Burn" are the only two Savage Garden songs that I really like. This one's really cheesy.

I loved this song when it came out. I don't like it so much anymore.

This isn't that bad, but it is my second least favorite of their singles (only ahead of "The Animal Song").
The Affirmation album has a great musical flow to it, starting with the title track as the album opener and going through all the way to "Two Beds and a Coffee Machine". (Despite "The Animal Song" being in that mix, it doesn't disrupt the musical flow at all.) The next two tracks after that sort of stumble around, almost lost, but the last track doesn't suffer from that.
Hmmm...I wonder why? ???
I enjoy that one, too.

This song spent 124 weeks on Billboard's AC chart, making it the all-time longevity champion. "Truly Madly Deeply" is in 2nd place, at 122 weeks. Darryl Singletary attempted a Country version of the song which flopped miserably.
I remember singing this one karaoke at Paramount's Kings Dominion (an amusement park near Richmond VA). I must have been the only 16 year old guy in the nation singing that song on stage and not some hip hop or alternative tune.

i remember hearing this alot , it grew on me cause its so catchy, what happened to Savage Garden? They had a less-than-amicable break-up according to various news reports. Darren Hayes went on to launch a solo career, which I believe, hasn't done so well. (I liked his first album "Spin" though) ... No idea what Daniel Jones is doing. Anyway, I liked IKILY. Haven't heard it in ages though. :)

I actually kind of liked it the first couple times I heard it, but it got so overplayed on both pop and AC (and continues to be overplayed on the latter) that now I can't stand listening to it.

It is still getting a lot of airplay on AC stations, but it's still a good song, but my favorite is "Crash and Burn."

i remember hearing this alot , it grew on me cause its so catchy, what happened to Savage Garden? From what I remember, Darren Hayes wasn't happy with doing absolutely nothing and having to share the credit, so he went solo. Similar situation to Wham, but at least Andrew Ridgely played an instrument.

On AT20 this week, Casey Kasem mentioned it was written on a dare on a challenge by their record label. It was written in 10 minutes.

I'm about as indifferent to this song as one can be. They never came close to the greatness of "To The Moon And Back". I was cool with "I Want You". "Truly Madly Deeply" I was a fan of because I kept wishing it would knock "My Heart Would Go On" out of #1, and it finally did, although it would have been much better nine weeks earlier. Other than that, their music was pretty much unmemorable.

I used to love this song. It's still a nice song although I can only take it in small doses.

I liked this, but I never hear it anymore. This song seems to have been overshadowed by their other hits, I Want You, and especially, Truly Madly Deeply.
Lol, this is pretty random, but I was took the SATs for the second time in October, the instructors gave us the whole "Turn off your evil cell phones, you cheaters!" speech as usual. And during the middle of the test, some guy's cell phone goes off, and the ringtone is none other than Truly Madly Deeply. The kid just did not seem like the type who would jam to this, but whatever floats your boat! And fortunately, none of our tests were invalidated, like the instructors threatened.

By far my least favorite SG single. The lyrics are mind-numbing even though the music is super melodic. It kills me that this song was their longest chart run. The only good thing that came out of this was allowing Darren to make enough money to continue doing solo projects for as long as he wants.
