This song has become synonymous with her name alone! Definitely her trademark song!

This might be my second favorite single from Control. I almost lost it when I was listening to it at the gym yesterday.

Iconic. Iconic. Iconic. Been on an old-school Janet kick and this is at the very top of the list!

Good but not my favorite from "Control" as I prefer "What Have You Done For Me Lately", "When I Think Of You", and "The Pleasure Principle" over it. When I was younger, I heard this song as an 80s flashback on WGCI, defunct 103.5 Jammin' Oldies and possibly B96 too (they often played her 80s hits as gold titles alongside her then-recent hits in the 90s). I actually like the Cool Summer Mix over the original/album version. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADkV7Bckg6Q&

35 years ago today, Janet Jackson scored a second and final week at No.1 on the Hot Black Singles chart (now called R&B/Hip Hop Songs) with "Nasty," the second single from her third album "Control." 4 weeks later, it reached No.3 on the Hot 100 Singles chart. Janet has reached No.1 on the R&B chart 16 times. "No, my first name ain't baby, it's Janet – Miss Jackson if you're nasty." Such a statement about female empowerment. I love Janet Jackson, what a talented and gorgeous woman she is.

Big fan of hers since the single before this one, What Have You Done For Me Lately. I was living in Peru back then and both videos were played A LOT.
