My favorite song from the Oops!... album and one of her BEST singles. Should've been chosen as the 2nd Single (could've been Top 5, off the lead single hype >:() over that unworthy pity-me-song but I won't be sour.
I remember rushing out to buy the maxi-single and enjoyed it so much that I finally bought the Oops!... album (very dissapointed by filler material). Anyway, the single peaked at...#14 on CHR-Pop #11 on Billboard's Hot 100 #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 Sales #2 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music/Maxi Sales #17 on Billboard's Top 40 Mainstream #28 on Billboard's Top 40 Tracks #1 on TRL

I remember being so pissed that it wasn't the second single. It was the first stand-out to me when fansites were posting 30-second clips of her entire album before it was released. I remember dancing to it in my room once I listened to it in full for the first time. She looked very sexy in the video. "Whatever." I used to want a poster of her CD cover really badly. I liked that pic a lot.

I didnt like Britney back then. But i love this song now and it should have been her 2nd single. "lucky" was and still is a horrible song. Britneys performance of "stronger" on the AMAs was a classic. She has so many OUTSTANDING performances under her belt. Thats one of those performances they will talk about in a few years on the VH1 flash back shows about the AMAs lol.

I hated this song back when it was released. I thought it was just a rehash of Baby One More Time and Oops I Did It Again, only this time, the song is not as good.
It's a little boring if you ask me. But I can tolerate this song now.

What a strong song! It was a number one for me, after it had peaked sadly debuting at number one as a matter of fact. Now that i think about I can see why it was disliked by many. The lyrics are identical or reflect back to "Baby One More Time" by the same producer and that seems boring by many.

It was the standout on the album for me, but somehow didn't quite work as a single. Maybe it was the shit video....

"Stronger" is one of my favorite Britney singles. I agree it should have been released second instead of "Lucky".

One of her better songs. And the video is the best she's ever done in my opinion.

Without a question the best song off of Oops and one of her better singles (no where near as good as Toxic, Slave, or Baby, though). I also think it's probably her strongest uptempo vocally, especially towards the end. Even though this was Max Martin produced, it wasn't the same damn song (Baby, Oops, What You See..), although Overprotected (3rd album) sort of rips it off.

I loved this back when it came out. Very uplifting but in a dancy sort of way. The chorus is very catchy. I thought it underperformed though on CHR/Pop. It should have been a top 10 hit for her at the very least.

It's all right. If I had a ranking system of her songs, I'd rank it somewhere in the middle to lower part of the list.

I like the parts right before the chorus when she sings "you might think that I can't take it..." HOT! Should've peaked higher everywhere. Before I discovered her chart history, I swear I thought this went #1.
