If it's not "I'm Every Woman," most people identify Chaka Khan with this hit from 1974. This has some of the best and funkiest guitar work on a soul track in history.

I like this song. I have a story to go with it too, LOL.
When I was at Universal Studios in Florida with my family back in 1999, Chaka Khan coincidentally was there giving a free concert. This is the song she was singing as we walked by the stage. So it reminds me of that.
I always considered "Ain't Nobody" to be her signature song.

One of those songs that helped to change 'soul' into 'funk', I agree with all of you that this is a great tune. The guitarist was Al Ciner, formerly of The American Breed (big late sixties hit Bend Me, Shape Me).
Wasn't TMSG written by Stevie Wonder? Did he ever do a version of his own?

I do believe that Stevie Wonder wrote it, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't have a version with his vocals.

Awesome song, I love it... the talking-guitar part is classic.

I heard this for the first time on 'Will & Grace' years ago, in a scene when Karen finds out her husband cheating... Needless to say, I loved it at once!

This is a great song. Most of Chaka's stuff is pretty good.

When that song was in hot rotation on the radio I was on holiday weekend at the beach with my family. I must have heard it a thousand times that weekend. I remember my dad hated it. That might be one reason I loved it so much, but as I've gotten older I've grown to appreciate it for the talent and flawless execution.
The album version is about a minute longer than the single, as I recall.

So essential, I could listen to Chaka sing about anything. I just dig how soulful this is.

The funkiness in this song never fails to bring people out that small bubble for those that are a bit shy to sing around others. I sing this everytime it comes on the radio.

I love it. I first heard it as a sample in UGK's hit of the same name.

I never liked this song, like due to overplay on both adult UC and classic hits stations. And the chorus gets stuck in my head. I prefer other hits from Chaka Khan, such as "I'm Every Woman", "Ain't Nobody", and "I Feel For You".
