Their most Supremes like moment ever imo... peak #6 Billboard Hot 100. Excellent song.... Basically I wanna know all of the R&R peaks for this one besides CHR/Pop!

Absolutely terrible cover. Their biggest pre-breakup low.

I really liked this song alot. Although it wasn't even the best song on "Funky Divas". I loved the video with all of them in those red dresses. This song eventually peaked at #3 on my personal chart

The Rebirth Experience wrote Absolutely terrible cover.[/quote] Boring song.
On the 9/6/92 edition of AT40, Shadoe Stevens mentioned Curtis Mayfield was the writer of the song. He was paralyzed from the chest down in a freak accident.

I really liked this song alot. Although it wasn't even the best song on "Funky Divas". I loved the video with all of them in those red dresses. I thought the song and video were very classy. The video was the classiest one En Vogue ever did. It was funny, too, how they made all those men shift in rapt attention; the guy who drops his wedding ring in his coat pocket; the wild applause at the end.

Absolutely terrible cover. Their biggest pre-breakup low. This was FAAR from a low. They were at the HEIGHT of their career when this song came out and it was a HUGE hit for them. The video to this day STILL makes the countdown for all time sexy videos over 10 years after release. This was far from a low, they made this song famous and it helped make EnVogue house hold names and desired by men all over the world.

I actually love it. I'd say it's on par with Aretha's original. I like them both equally.

I actually thought it was great. They also did a great cover of The Beatles "Yesterday" on the FUNKY DIVAS album.
Their harmony together is incredible.

They did a great job and came up with a great video as well. Very sexy and funny.
I'd say it's on par with Aretha's version, and that's not easy to do. Actually, the video visual make me like it a little more.

Absolutely terrible cover. Their biggest pre-breakup low. Lol. What a fucking purist I was. I prefer Aretha's by a long-shot, but this was a solid cover.

I listen to this every once in a while. I remember it being big at the time.
The music video was a reference to the 1976 movie Sparkle, which featured the original version sung by The Sisters. However, The Sisters wore the red dresses for another song.

This is FIRE. And that video, so classic.
I actually prefer their cover to the original. I've always felt Aretha's vocal fought the melody of the song, En Vogue smooth it out and it works so much better.

One of the few Aretha covers that's better than the original.

This song was played a lot on B96, WGCI and maybe V103 in my market. I think the AC stations played it too. Okay song but not my favorite from them as I prefer "Hold On", "Free Your Mind" and "My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)".
