Probably my favorite from that group, and one of my faves of 2004 and 2005.

Good song, but not the masterpiece everybody on this board made it out to be when it first came out.

This was a #1 hit on one of my charts and #2 on another chart. Big for me but I liked Jesus of Suburbia more. I liked that this was so huge tho. #1 simultanously on six charts! That's a big accomplishment. A true monster hit, fo sho!

Boulevard Of Broken Dreams reached #2 on the Hot 100 in early 2005

Oh gawd this is awful! Weren't they once a rock band? When did this emo crap come out of them? Simply horrendous!

I actually love this song & that album, and usually, Green Day is NOT my cup of tea. This is as close to a universal anthem as you can get in the fractured contemporary pop scene.

Never liked Green Day very much when they were totally punk-revival in the '90s.
The song that made me take notice of Green Day was "Time of Your Life (Good Riddance)" - the first hit by the band that adult stations started spinning in heavy rotation.
"Boulevard of Broken Dreams" is a great song - a very melodic power-pop anthem that appeals to many different audiences. In fact, a lot of material on their American Idiot CD is pretty damn good - including the title track.

I seem to be the only one who likes both their old AND new stuff anymore.

I think they've gained more popularity lately because their music is more mature-sounding than it was in the early '90s.

I've never been able to get into Green Day's old music. 90's punkish stuff (blink 182, Offspring) does nothing for me.
After a couple listenings of the title track I was suprised to find it was actually really good. This song made me go buy the album.

Not bad. "Holiday" is better. As well as "Wake Me Up When September Ends".

Boulevard of Broken Dreams is my favorite song of 2005 and one of the best songs of the decade - completely deserving of its Record Of The Year grammy win.

Not bad. "Holiday" is better. As well as "Wake Me Up When September Ends". Um, no. WMUWSE is probably the most boring Green Day song released to radio. I cannot understand why people absolutely love that song, but oh well. Anyways, I love the song and never got tired of it really. It's a solid track all around, and it is NOT emo whatsoever. How can you compare this to something like I Write Sins Not Tragedies or even This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race? I can't see it.

I'm still sick of this song. I like most Green Day stuff, but I could easily go without hearing this and "WMUWSE" for a long time.

Easily one of my favorites of the 200's, and it has aged well.

I still love this. It's one of my favorite Green Day songs. This. No matter how much it got overplayed, I never tired of it.

I've always loved this. I didn't like what they became after this, but the song itself is among their best.

I like this but I find it to be vastly overrated. I prefer the other singles on that album.

I discovered this song earlier in the week. Can't believe it took me 13 years to know this masterpiece. At least it was worth it.

I do wish that this wasn't blocked by Candy Shop from hitting #1 in America. But it's still their most successful, and best song that Green Day has every done and will ever do.

Great song from a great band. This is one of the best popular songs from a political band.
