This is my favorite Amy Grant single of all-time. The instrumentation on this song is very varied and the whole song is really catchy. Amy Grant's voice was really nice back then too.
This was the fourth, out of five, singles from 1991's "Heart In Motion".
In 1992 this went to these positions:
The Billboard Hot 100: #8 Adult Contemporary: #4
It went to #3 at CHR/Pop.

This song is ok, but I love Amy songs Baby Baby and Every Heartbeat way better. I wish she made more Upbeat music like that. www.singingfool.com has some of her music videos.

I love the single version of this song, which has a slightly different arrangement from the album version.
On a somewhat related note, does anybody have a copy of the single version of her hit "Every Heartbeat"? Again, I like that version better than what appeared on her CD...

I really liked this song back in the day. This was the only album where Amy Grant was ever any good, to me. The singles were good, anyway; I never bought the album, thankfully.

Wasn't Amy Grant painting herself as a good Christian woman and having an affair behind her hubbys back?

It's good thing you didn't. Every last one of her singles including this one were remixed for "single" versions. The LP version of this is bland as all ghett out.

Wasn't Amy Grant painting herself as a good Christian woman and having an affair behind her hubbys back? Yes, but Vince Gill is now her hubby. The album was still very good, and that single in particular.

I don't have the LP either, but I do remember 2 different versions of "Good For Me". A piano-based version was commonly spun on AC stations - I wonder if that's the one heard on the album. The more up-beat dance-rock version was the one I always heard on CHR at the time. Was that the re-mixed single release?

Here's the "lesbian" version of the video that Amy filmed, but nixed when she saw how it was edited!

I had this album back in the day- this was fun, just like the album's other uptempo tracks. I even liked the ballads.
Amy couldn't have her Christian image tarnished with such "innuendo." :)

I wouldn't even assume they're lesbians in the video without someone putting that into my head. lol The two girls are even flirting with boys in the video.

I love the Heart In Motion album (no shame), definitely one of my favorite tracks from it.

I think this is probably my favorite single by her. Such a sugary, feel-good 90s song. Love it.

Lesbi-honest, that first video was shot by someone who thought the premise of the video should be what would straight guys like to see Amy Grant do. Act mildy flirtatious with another girl while draping lingerie on each other? Sure. Play air guitar and keyboards on top of a fire truck while they flirt with firemen? Why Not. Someone spray them with water just more subtile than in a Heavy Metal video so they are all moist? Absolutely.

This shouldve charted higher but I remember this barely scraped the lower 60's on the Singles sales chart while hitting number four on airplay. People really did switch to buying the album rather than the singles by this point even though the hit mixes my local station and VH-1 played weren't on the album.

She's done better. "Every Heartbeat" was excellent and this was somewhat mediocre.

I like this one. she really had a good run of good poppy, ac singles. Good, Heartbeat and Baby all felt very similiar to me but i liked them all. VH1 loved them some Amy Grant

I don't love it as much as "Baby Baby" and "Every Heartbeat," but it's still fantastic and a great album opener.
My parents were really big Amy fans, I wonder if they knew about the video controversy.

All of her hits from this album were cute and catchy. And annoyingly, every single had a better single mix. I actually prefer the smoothed out You Like To Dance mix of this.

I like this.
This is one I discovered at work a few years back. Somehow I missed out on this one the first time around. It's so catchy and cute.
